Haha, I remember watching that too. But seriously, Unsolved Mysteries back in the day was great (not the last year or so with a really old Robert Stack). I still get chills watching some of the episodes. There's suppose to be a new version being broadcasted come this fall, on SpikeTV I think. My hopes aren't high.

Every time I hear/see someone mention Saved By The Bell, I think of Zack running into the classroom covered in oil, yelling "OMG, we just discovered oil on the football field!".

I love those, but does saved by the bell really beat any of those? Tailspin sucked...ducktales was great, but i would have been more impressed with family guy, simpsons, or south park.

what is a "true list"? A list that is supposed to represent everyone's thoughts and the 'end all of be all' for this type of argument? So your list consists of no "personal thoughts"? The majority actually feel that shit like Entourage, Lost, Alias and others deserve to be in the top 10 shows from 1990 onwards?

If that is your personal list, then fine, but no way in hell would that ever qualify to be "THE List". Only thing you have right is Seinfeld at #1.

The fact that nobody even mentioned The Sopranos until whynotsmile just a few posts back makes me completely lose faith in this board.

South Park is the greatest television show ever. If you disagree then you just don't have a refined enough sense of humor. It takes a keen and perceptive ear to pick up on the very cynical satire but for those that "get it" it's the best thing going.

South Park took the Simpsons throne. Family Guy can go suck a dick.

Smallville is great not only because of her, but I just like what they did to the Superman Story. So far, they are following it perfectly, but they do add lots of things, but most of them are good.
For instance, the character Chloe isn't part of the Superman story at all, and of course, Superman can fly, but in Smallville he doesn't, nore wears a cape.

yeah, thankfully NBC has green lit a 3rd season...but it's gonna air on Direct TV first, then later on, on NBC (like they do with Law & Order SVU on USA network). Kinda shitty but better than nothing. Yeah I love the show for the EITS music, and that brunette...man oh man. THe fact that so few people even mention Arrested Development is pathetic and horrifying.

Pete and Pete is classic, I would include it in my top ten not only for inclusion of so many Magnetic Fields songs, but also for overall absurdity. Also, the Upright Citizens Brigade show, while only on for 3 seasons on Comedy Central, was a great outlet for the utterly bizarre and hilarious.

'Arrested Development' seems forced and contrived 90% of the time and actually funny 10% of the time for me. It's not something I actively hate, or even dislike, I just don't see what everyone else sees in it. '30 Rock' too. And 'Seinfeld.' And 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' And I watched the first episode of 'Flight Of The Conchords' and that annoyed me too. So. Please stop calling this stuff the smartest comedy around America. Thanks.

Thank you to the few people you mentioned The Wire. I'm currently in the process of indoctrination – 4 episodes into Season 2. Unbelievably great.

Thanks.

Wow dude, I don't think I could watch television with you. I love AD, Seinfeld, and recently fell in love with 30 Rock (that season finale episode is pretty hilarious... when Baldwin says "Let's do this" at the end, priceless), and I like Curb and FotC.

But really, the funniest comedy on tv, now or maybe anytime, is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The only possible reason for this to happen would be if the gf/wife insists they watch it together. And then, there had better be a reward.

Question:

Why argue for 4 pages with someone whose initial instinct was to place "Scrubs" above "Six Feet Under", "South Park", "The Sopranos" and "The Simpsons", when it's immediately clear that person is dysfunctional?

wasn't Freaks and Geeks cancelled after only like 4 episodes?

It was fucking great tho

They were cancelled after 13 episodes, but they managed to finish out the season and were able to air 18.

This show also has great replay value. I can watch it over and over and over.

there is A LOT of failing going on in this thread, but the one that really stood one was the guy who had Jericho at #3... not only is that completely wrong, but it exemplifies how bad your taste could possible be... on that note, yea, that's right, i'm going to negatively comment on something random, but not offer my own list. ha!

it's crazy cause the first season was more like a "normal" season, and then it seemed like season 2 took a year and a half to come out. i wish they wouldn't space them out so much, i need my big love!!!
