i was about to leave werk when my friend called and asked if i wanted to go on the new Simpsons Ride. So i drove the 405/101 mess to Universal to hear upon my arrival i had missed the opportunity to ride by 20 minutes. my friend mentioned nothing of a time limit. So i went in to see what the exterior looked like. Unfortunately i didn't have a camera with me today because the ride looks great. i was bumming out and talking to another friend who was there when they started letting people on the ride again.
As a fat comic book store owner would say: "Best ride ever!"
i don't know if it can take my "best" from the Haunted Mansion, but the Simpsons Ride was an insane push forward in the art of theme park attractions. It is where the Back to the Future Ride used to be. It is the same type of ride as that and California Soaring. i LOVE Soaring, but the new ride takes it a whole lot further. The immersion in an out of control ride in the world of Springfield and beyond had me laughing and tripping hard the whole few minutes it lasted. Can't spoil anything with details, but the imagination of the movie and the sensation of the motion exceeded what i thought was going to happen. Wish i could have done the multiple rides, but i had to get back into shitty traffic and make my way home for sleep. The ride was so good, i didn't mind the cluster fuck freeway as much because it was all worth it.
When my friend sends me the picture of us in Krusty's mouth, i'll put it here in the blank spot underneath these words.
