Transport questions

Hi guys,

I'm a guy coming from South Africa. I have never been in the US before, and I was hoping you guys can help me out with a couple of questions so I can properly plan my trip.

I plan on flying from Johannesburg to LAX, as there are no direct flights to palm springs airport. Do you think that a good idea, or what airport do you suggest I fly to?

Then I need to know, what is the best way to get to Coachella once I arrive in L.A? Is there somewhere online I can buy the bus/train tickets before I leave SA?

What is the weather like that time of year?

For accommodation what would you suggest? I was thinking I would just buy a camping tickets as well, as its onsite. or if I decide to stay at one of the hotels, is there a way to get to the festival everyday?

Is the festival in town, or a couple of miles out of town.

I know its allot of questions, but I'm far away and need to plan this properly so I don't get lost. hahaha
