The party was good. I got an email about the party because Filter sends me emails natioally and for southern California events. I liked the party, Steve Aoki spun there.

Are there any other pre partys besides this one?

Yes, many other excellent pre-parties are planned this year, with loads of booze and cool tunes and lots of famous people there, it's gonna be a total blast.

You're not invited, though

Unless Prince will be there it won't be worth it.

E

CuervoPH
02-10-2007, 07:56 PM
Prince should definitely throw a Coachella Pre-Party. In fact that should be a tradition for everyone that performs at the Super Bowl halftime show (unless they aren't Prince).

DeltaSigChi4
02-10-2007, 11:11 PM
I didn't know there was a Manchester, Pennsylvania.

Also, we're so spoiled here in Vegas, that most of Prince's shows don't even sell-out. In fact, no ones regular shows sell out. And I'm a part of the problem, not the solution; I haven't been to a Prince show @ 3121. *embarrassed*

E

CuervoPH
02-10-2007, 11:21 PM
Most people don't know that there's a Manchester, Pennsylvania. This town had one traffic light up until a couple of years ago. Now it's up to four.

DeltaSigChi4
02-10-2007, 11:23 PM
Do you have a WalMart?

E

CuervoPH
02-10-2007, 11:27 PM
Nope. But, this town is about 5 minutes from York, PA and about 25 minutes from Harrisburg, PA...and there are Wal-Marts in both...I moved here for work...I left a city of about 350K population (which isn't necessarily huge but bigger than this)...

the downside is that if there's snow, our roads aren't plowed until they've hit the major roads first...the upside is that I don't hit any traffic on the way to work.

DeltaSigChi4
02-10-2007, 11:32 PM
Oh, I asked because I despise WalMart. I've always admired cities (NYC) and towns (Manchester, PA apparently) that are WalMart-free.

GOT MINE--here's what it says:

GET ON THE BUS
On Thursday, April 26th, Filter will kidnap our very best friends and take them to themost remote of party locations for what promises to be the best pre-Coachella bash in the desert. Free booze, master turntableists and a lakeside view are just some of what you can expect at this year's big gig. Welcome to the Desert.

LOCATION
Buses will be leaving from a top secret location every 1/2 hour from 8-11pm and returning from 12:30 - 2am. No onsite parking available.

Featuring Special Guest DJ's and tons of fun activities.
Check out filter-mag.com/coachella/
For updates and announcements.

Beverages courtesy of Heineken, Dewar's, Red Bull.
TO ATTEND
To get all the info, email your RSVP asap to: rsvpcoachella@filtermmm.com. Include your full name, affiliation, person who invited you and names of all guests (+1's).

You will receive an email confirmation with bus pick up locations the week of the event.

captncrzy
04-11-2007, 08:35 AM
I just signed up and they will send you an auto confirmation that you are on the list; mine went into my spam folder. I suggest doing it quick--if I remember right, last year the list filled up in like a week or so.

I got a response and this is what it said:

You are confirmed for the list for FILTER MAGAZINES Coachella kickoff party THURSDAY, April 26th from 8pm to 2am.

You will be getting an email the week before the event with instructions on where to catch the shuttle bus to get to the party. There is no on-site parking, so you must go to the shuttle location and not the party location (which will not be disclosed).

Damn...now I'm conflicted...anyone know how it went last year? I dont wanna ditch my little brother, but at the same time...free booze...lol

I got there really early last year. In fact, I was on the first bus over. It was so early that they didn't even check names to see if you were on the list--I assume that they figured that if you knew what was going on and were in line to get picked up to go, that you must have gotten the email-therefore you must be on the list.

They did, however, check my ID. I do remember that. I'm pretty sure they won't let him go--there were a couple of main bars and then several bar stations-and none of them checked ID's--they just passed out free drinks.

SubBass49
04-12-2007, 05:43 PM
oh damn...now I'm even more conflicted...that sucks...but I've been reading reviews of it from last year and it sounded pretty dope according to most people...I might hafta ditch my little bro after all...little bastard...wuoldn't have been an issue last year, because this is his first time at Coachella...argh!

uh, no not really. by the time they stopped letting people in, they had nearly run out of the free booze for one thing. and people didn't start to leave at all. they had to heard people out of there at the end of the night!

open bar, so probably no.

again, no. free booze does not mean an open bar. free booze supplied by whoever decides to donate free booze to filter in exchange for a mention in the magazine... last year it was heineken, a few years back it was red stripe and guinness.
