That really really is such a great line up. Probably the only festival I'd seriously think of traveling out of California for.

Why the fuck is animal collective billed above jarvis cocker? Look at their respective coachella billings, and besides, nobody will ever bother to learn the name of the singer...I mean yelper of animal collective, let alone still remember it, or animal collective, 15 years from now.

pitchfork fest just gets the bands that pitchfork's shitty staffers like- which is why a mid-level coachella band like animal collective is headlining.

Good lineup, but seriously Animal Collective has got to be the most god-awful horseshit I've ever heard. And I've heard "Metal Machine Music".

It breaks my heart but I do not think my finances will be in good enough shape to actually go. I won't sell my tickets yet just in case somehow I can figure out how to fit the trip in my budget but right now it's looking like I can do this or ATP, but not both. Sigh.

I'd be happy to take Fri and possibly Sat as well if you end up not going. Keep me in mind please. In return, you get homemade porn.

I'd rather sell all 3 days together. But I'm going to keep them for a while and just see if I can't somehow force this to work.

For anyone going, the three days prior to the festival, Pitchfork and a world music organization have joined up to get some world music shows in venues throughout Chicago, with the culminating event happening at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium park on June 17th. They haven't announced the headliner yet, but last year they had Toumani Diabate and Vieux Farka Toure. It was spectacular.

I actually just remembered that I saw that last year, and had to check to see if it was happening again.

I bought a ticket for saturday. I want to see Animal Collective again and know there won't be a chance to for a long time otherwise. I'll drive to Long Beach and then fly(for free) to Chicago on friday and come home sunday. Might try and stay sunday as well, we'll see. I'm going to be going alone. That will be a first for a festival. Or traveling out of state, come to think of it. Can't wait.

They're going to have Fleet Foxes, Boban Markovic Orkestar and two other acts playing the festival. They'll probably get longer sets, so it should be cool

No Age vs. Jarvis isn't even a contest. No Age will actually tour again.

While it's no contest (partially because I've seen No Age around 10 times) it's still a regrettable conflict.

I hear ya. Hmm, I wonder how long he will play. And No Age. I guess a little No Age is doable.

Argh, why is there still no LA tour date? :(

bmack86
06-27-2008, 03:55 PM
He'll probably have an hour. No Age will probably have about the same, but I don't know that I've ever seen them play for a whole hour.
