I'm sure it'll be the same. With the 2s disappearing fast. It gets substantially cheaper as you bump up to larger rooms. maybe we could get a coachella group gunnin for a larger room... I hope they announce the prices and remainder of the lineup before the onsale date.

Mr. Nipples, I will weep with you.

You don't need a rental car if you can do these:

From JFK airport, theres buses (I forgot how much <$20 one way?) or train that will take you to NY Port Authority.

The site is less than a 2 hour drive from New York City.

Alternatively you can get a Bus from the NY Port Authority Bus Terminal to Monticello. There are many buses throughout the day and it costs approx $58 return.

This service is run by shortline, there is a link to timetable below.
http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/ss.details.asp?action=Lookup&c1=New+York&s1=NY&c2=Monticello&s2=NY&resultId=153427&order=&dayFilter=&scheduleChoice=&sitePageName=%2Fshortline%2Findex%2Easp&cbid=399254341406

ATP will also be running some buses, further information to be announced soon.

The ticket price is $225 + booking fee. This will gain you entrance into the three day festival including all performances.

Tickets can be purchased with or without accommodation (extra cost for accommodation, for details see below)

Q- How much does the accommodation cost?

Limited accommodation is available on-site in hotel rooms that sleep 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 people. Accommodation is sold by the room in 3 day blocks only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). You are permitted to have any number up to the maximum occupancy in the room. For example, if you wish to purchase a 4 person occupancy room, you are permitted to have 1 to 4 people sharing the room during the event, and the price is the same.

In addition to this there is extra accommodation a short drive from the site, here there is also a nightclub where we will have djs and bands playing into the night. Shuttle buses will run between the two sites.

All rooms have private bathrooms, TVs, some have fridges, and some patio doors opening on to the view of the lake - All rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
All accommodation prices below are for the whole 3 nights and are subject to sales tax and a booking fee.

Room Configurations
(Listed is the maximum number of persons per room)

3 persons, (1 double bed, 1 single bed), $450
4 persons, (1 double bed, 1 single bed, 1 fold out bed), $600
5 persons (1 double bed, 1 single bed (or fold out bed), 1 sofa bed), $750
5 persons, (1 double bed, 2 single bed, 1 fold out bed), $750
6 persons, (2 double beds, 1 sofa bed), $900
6 persons, (2 double beds, 2 single bed), $900
7 persons, (2 double beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 fold out bed), $1050

Q- What Do I Need To Bring if I am staying onsite?

If you have accommodation you should bring towels and toiletries, bedding is provided.

Q- When Will I Receive My Tickets?

You will receive your tickets about a month before the event. You should contact feedback@atpfestival.com with any queries regarding this.

Q- What if I have a problem with my ticket?

Please contact feedback@atpfestival.com

Theres only like 3 or 4 laptops at campsite (how fast?). I bet some diehard MBV fans @ campsites will be doing that as well. Though I think it will not be that hard to get tix. Problem is yeah, fast internet access.

No, my August is still TBD ... it will start with Lolla for sure (already booked the hotel, flight, got tix) ... got my Muse Dublin tix for 8/13 but missed out on V-Fest ... I've been thinking in going to one of those Barcelona/Europe's fest but its so expensive and I've been like endlessly checking for great travel (package) deals. If I will end up not going to this, I will try in one of MBV's shows in Europe.

Yeah, but not for wireless internet purposes. I might be bringing it so I can immediately upload/save pics and vids out of my camera OR to watch DVDs at airport. I need a new one arrrrggh but I cant afford it (been spending all my money in gigs/festivals, travels). The one I'm using right now (the wifi etc) is fucked up.

looks like we need to start figuring out who is going for sure to this

You should work out ahead of time how many people you wish to buy tickets for and share accommodations with, then decide who is going to be the ticket buyer. You will be asked first how many festival passes you wish to buy. These cost $225 each and will gain you entrance into the three day festival including all performances, plus applicable booking fee.

You will then be asked whether you wish to purchase accommodations. If you choose yes, you will be asked which room you wish to purchase and how many people you intend on having sleep in it.

Please note that the person whose credit card is used to purchase the tickets will be required to be present at the site to collect the tickets in an effort to prevent scalping. If the person whose credit card is used cannot be present, a photocopy of the front and back of their card along with the email confirmation letter they received when purchasing the tickets will be required.

The last time Kevin Shields performed live with My Bloody Valentine was July 5th, 1992 in Los Angeles at The Palace Theater

That show was very loud. The end was 20 minutes of loud feedback. It was fun watching the audience get more annoyed minute by minute.

nothing new in this, but it did come out today ..042308 x****

UK alt-rockers My Bloody Valentine [ tickets ] are set to play their first US show in 16 years during this summer's ATP New York music festival.
The first 15 acts have been announced for the three-day event, which is scheduled to take place Sept. 19-21 at Kutshers Country Club in Monticello, NY. On the bill are Built to Spill [ tickets ], Meat Puppets [ tickets ], Thurston Moore, Tortoise [ tickets ], Shellac [ tickets ], Mogwai [ tickets ], Polvo, F--- Buttons, Autolux, The Drones, Low, Wooden Shjips, Edan with guest Dagha, and Thee Silver Mount Zion Orchestra. More acts will be announced shortly, according to a press release.

The boutique festival, curated by UK promoter All Tomorrow's Parties [ tickets ] tour dates, tickets and news" style="color:#630000;">All Tomorrow's Parties [ tickets ] and My Bloody Valentine, will host fewer than 3,000 people and offer up amenities including dining, bars, an indoor swimming pool, tennis and golf. About 30 bands are expected to play throughout the weekend, starting in the mid-afternoons, with DJ sets running into the late-night hours, according to organizers.

Three-day passes costing $225 plus fees go on sale beginning Friday (4/25), and tickets including accommodations will also be available. Further information can be found at the ATP Festival website.

My Bloody Valentine fell off the radar following its critically acclaimed 1991 album, "Loveless." Late last year, frontman Kevin Shields confirmed the band was back together and planning to release new music, according to Billboard.

So, how are you/we/the ones who plan to go going to do this?

getting a large room?

I would definitely go in on a large room. Fuck, I'd sleep on the floor for this lineup. I'm just worried about the very finite amount of tickets. Lodging on-site goes on sale along with tickets as I read it. How are we going to organize the lodging? And this is also assuming that any of us can get tickets to this magic event at all. There's only 3000 total after all. What if only one of us gets tickets?

orbit
04-23-2008, 10:50 PM
I wonder if we'll be able to sneak people into the rooms. Anyway, according to the website, the first batch of tickets will be on sale this friday. So, there will be still a second one but with accommodations in a nearby hotel.

and looks like each one can buy his own ticket but only one person has to reserve the room?

You should work out ahead of time how many people you wish to buy tickets for and share accommodations with, then decide who is going to be the ticket buyer. You will be asked first how many festival passes you wish to buy. These cost $225 each and will gain you entrance into the three day festival including all performances, plus applicable booking fee.

You will then be asked whether you wish to purchase accommodations. If you choose yes, you will be asked which room you wish to purchase and how many people you intend on having sleep in it.

Well. I'm in for 1 for sure. I'll know tonight whether or not i'll be +1. I'll totally throw in my share on the room ASAP assuming I get a ticket. I can either get you cash since you are local, or hook you up via paypal.

Maybe the best way to coordinate is have one person dedicated to getting the room (it's a prompt that comes up after you have already secured your ticket from what I can tell). And we can all report here right away on whether we got tickets so we can know what size of room to nab. I don't think we need to stress out too much on a room because there are several hotels in the area, and it's a small event. It would be really nice to get one of the on campus rooms.

I'm posting at campsite. Woot! Coachella!!!

Count me in also. One of my friends will try to buy 1 tix for me tomorrow. Just in case we need more (or if 2 of my friends finally decide to join me there later <- I doubt it/not likely), I will also ask him to try and book another 1 room for 3 persons (max I can afford right now). I wonder if thats allowed (i.e - invisible, - will you able to reserve a room for multiple people even if you are just buying 1 tix?).

Oh hey, if you guys think you're gonna go and maybe think I could get in too, I could maybe pick you up from the airport so we can go see My Bloody Valentine crush our skulls after Mogwai, Shellac and the rest removes our head skin and muscle by melting our faces off.

I just met a girl that loves MBV, and we clicked off of that, and yeah.; thanks MBV. I stopped talking to the Coachella girl right after coachella, make quick work of moving on.

Edit: Dear god I keep forgetting about Shellac and Mogwai... Oh man I hate you guys.

Don't worry. Tyler missed Friday and Sunday of Coachella, so you have him one-upped.

Seriously. I loved Coachella this year, but they didn't have Mogwai, MBV or Shellac. Those three are electric. SHELLAC.

I wonder how long the sets are going to be.

bmack86
05-01-2008, 10:25 PM
well, 30 bands, 3 days=10 bands per day

even if they do only one stage, which I doubt, it'll give openers about 50 minutes and the bigger acts well over an hour. I'm guessing they'll stagger stages so they can do setup for each act with minimal overlap, and give each band a full set.

I'm assuming 2 stages, AKA 2 separate buildings, plus the DJ thing (I wonder if anyone good will DJ?)

So I've got my tickets (2) locked but I still haven't figured out lodging or transportation. Damn it, I should have gone for the accommodations when I had the chance! Does anyone know the details of the other accommodations that were mentioned in the FAQ? I sent an email to ATP but haven't heard back yet. How are you guys planning on getting to the venue?

well, I'll try to get onsite accomodation when I get my tickets. Or we can work something out with more board members. Who else is getting tickets for this? idrive1life? wmgaretjax?

so a room for 4 then. the only thing is.. well.. they charge your credit card right then? if so, we'd need to pitch the money right after the reservation is made. or if someone else wants to book the rooms, I have no problem with that.

I'm definitely in for me +1. If you grab rooms with your tickets, I'll gladly PayPal you my share as soon as I hear word from you that you've hooked it up.

Please don't call me bballer. ARL are my initials. The bball stands for baseball. This is the only sn I have ever had. It is about 13 years old. I am too set in my ways to change.
