Did he die on your birthday, or did your mom tell you on your birthday?
or both?

that sucks.
I was pretty fucking devastated when Elliott Smith died.

But you know.. everyone dies.

... except me.

Was that a Rilo Kiley reference? heh.

did I just reference Rilo Kiley?
I don't know them at all.

"but it just is...
cause everybody...

dies"

- "It Just Is" - Rilo Kiley

Makes sense, though, since the song IS about Elliott Smith.

If there was a god, he wouldn't have let Freddie Mercury died.

Certainly the best singer I've ever heard.

Still the saddest celebrity death I remember. I think I cried.

i remember when farley died. i was eight years old and i was in love with tommy boy and black sheep. i was watching tv and there was a tease for the news: "actor chris farley found dead"

so fucking sad.

I was so sad when Farley died. My favorite movies at the time were Tommy Boy, and Black Sheep. I remember thinking that was the end of David Spade's career, i wasn't really wrong.

I was sad when my grandpa died.

I laughed when your hero's died.

i never had a grandpa. sorry for his passing.

but really, i find inspiration in the work of artists since i really feel no connection between any real people.
a true hero of mine was mitch hedberg. played by his own rules and lived to make people feel better. i idolized the guy.

yea, had no gramps either.

mitch was sad as shit. First year at college. sad, sad day.

but Farley floored me. He died when I was 12. Tommy Boy is still one of the funniest movies ever.

I remember being really sad at Gene Siskel's passing as well. Used to watch that show all the time.

holy shit, this made me spit dr. pepper. Nice work. Speaking of Elliott, I stopped by the figure 8 mural today while I was in LA, nice to see people writing on the newly redone mural.

One of the few bands in history that I believe would have made some incredible music over the years if all hadn't ended so prematurely.
