Cure's new record got pushed back to the Fall. Morrissey with a new-ish reecord by then and the Cali-99 Coachella connection.

I disagree (to a point). Zooropa ('93) is a fine album in places and even Pop ('97) has some great individual tracks on it such as 'Mofo' and 'Wake Up Dead Man'.
Mofo is my favorite U2 track of all time....
