I mean what you consider to be your first show, the first concert you gave a shit about.

So if you don't wanna count the time your parents forced you to see backstreet boys or whatever that's fine by me.

Tell a story if you feel so inclined.

I think the ''cheesy concert'' thread ended up with what most of these postings shall contain.

It used to be a great conversational gambit, guess it doesn't translate so well on a message board.

My apologies guys, please ignore.

Well, first concert was Weird Al, and I did give a shit about it. He changes costumes for every song. Pretty sick.

First concert I paid for though was Aerosmith, honestly. It was their first show and one of the first concerts in the country after 9/11. Blast the band all you want (my opinion has certainly dropped since early high school), but there is something that felt very right about seeing Aerosmith right after 9/11. It was also the best setlist I've ever seen them have. Lots of oldies.

Anyway, Weird Al and Aerosmith. Great track record, Brian.

ICP...yup. Caught 3 (count 'em) bottles of Faygo, got nearly crushed by the huge guy that always apparently went to ICP shows in SF, and bent my specs.

Ozzfest 2002. I've always wanted to see Ozzy but System of a Down was the main reason we went and it was well worth it. Great live show. Coincidentally, it also happened to be the last ever Drowning Pool show as their singer OD'd and died later that night.

1st concert was Jethro Tull, but the first show that had real impact and filled me with awe was RHCP with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and The Smashing Pumpkins in '91.

This was the tour that marked the first time I got stoned.

I "saw" the music, man. It was intense.

The Clash. NYC early 80's - with my father. Journey soon after that, still went with dad.

First show "by myself" was Crowded House in 1987 and Echo and the Bunnymen a week later, support from The Leather Nun.

Siouxsie and the Banshees, Edinburgh Playhouse 1981, on the Ju-Ju Tour.

Linton Kwesi Johnson and his freaky dub poetry was the support, and after the gig my ears rang for 3 days!

Good one.

Ah yes, INXS - I loved those shows, saw them a ton of times including the "college" Kick Tour in 1988, Listen Like Thieves (featuring a few Kick tunes) in 87 @ Vets memorial with a half sold house. Then in late 88, seeing them with Public Image limited at a jam packed Richfield in Cleveland.

I went that year aswell, but he died before the LA show.

Yeah, it was the Indianapolis show. It was a very weak performance. I was never a Drowing Pool fan but it was exceptionally bad, one of the only sets that nobody moshed to. I heard that he literally drowned in a pool of his own vomit. Funny but sad.

RHCP with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and The Smashing Pumpkins in '91

God Damn! Throw in Soundgarden and Alice in Chains and you have all the biggest rock bands of the 90's right there.
