Looks like they are going to be on fairly early on Saturday judging by their position on the poster.

So ... anyone ? Irish rock band .. they have a guy playing a stripped down electric fiddle which is superb. Lots of slow burners that build up.

Anyway. Give 'em a listen. They went down very well at Sasquatch '05.

The Frames are amazing. I first saw 'em open up for Damien Rice in Seattle and blew me away (that whole show was outstanding). Saw 'em at Sasquatch as well. They were right before Matisyahu.

Saw them at Lolla last year. Wasn't expecting such a great set. I even downloaded some of their set from iTunes today. Can't wait to see them again.

The lead singer, Glen Hansard, put out a solo (well kinda solo, it was with a lady named Marketa Irglova) disc this last year. Very quiet and moody stuff.

Meh. My friend from college is currently writing a book on them and was just spending a lot of time in Ireland....but they never wowed me. Right on par with Travis really, songs your mom would probably like.

Oooof ... a friend just let me borrow 12 Memories by Travis ... and I think it was the most forgettable album I've listened to in a long time ...

It wasn't horrible, that I would remember ... it was FAR from good.

It was just ... blah.

For me at least, this is a bad omen for The Frames in my quest to hear new bands.

The essential Travis record is The Invisible Band. And 12 Memories is far from forgettable.

just downloaded the album and im very impressed...there sound is very epic and if they can do what the "editors" did last year and engulf a tent with their music it will be incredible.
