shitty concert... crap venue... awful radio station.

what makes it even worse is that they always throw in one or two bands that are respectable and I would love to see (i.e. MGMT, Moby this year), but not enough to make it worth going. what a fucking tease.

Yeah. The one with the Beastie Boys, where the Strokes headlined...I am pretty sure that was 04. Might have been 05. I didn't go the year that the lineup was filled with shit like MxPx...which I think was 05 because Kasabian also played (and I love Kasabian, but that was all that was worthwhile on the lineup). But the year with The Strokes, we found a backstage pass on the ground and me and my friends all took turns going backstage. I didn't meet anyone, but one of the girls met Karen O, whom she idolized, and freaked out.

This lineup is not that bad at all, especially for only 10$. The fact that they aren't using the amphitheater is even better because now you don't have to worry about paying up the ass or being first in line to get tix in the 100 sections.

2004 was the best though. Seeing Julian of the strokes puke while flawlessly singing every song in his set was insane. 2005 (maybe 2006?) when the strokes played again sucked ass. Franz Ferdinand took up to much time so the strokes could only play like 5 songs... I think one of the band members was so pissed they broke the guitar after their set.

Live 105 is beginning to really suck ass though.. Panic at the Disco and Fall out Boy (along with JJ) are new hits on the station and are way overplayed... RHCP is the most overplayed though and I can't stand RHCP.

Better than the harmony festival lineup or BFD??? The vibe at BFD is so lame that I'd much rather be grooving at the Harmony Festival sipping on lavender lemonade, free massage & great food/vibes...

And a dose of Damian Marley doesn't hurt either...

I am almost 100% positive Echo and the Bunnymen were 04. 03 was the year the White Stripes played, 04 was the year with The Strokes, Beastie Boys, and Echo and the Bunnymen (they were supporting the release of Siberia), and 06 was The Strokes again with Franz Ferdinand, Wolfmother, etc.

There were a ton more bands but this is all that comes to mind.

bfd 97 was awesome as well social distortion, echo/bunnymen, 3rd eye blind, cure, erasure

The morning show does suck, but you'd be surprised. They're #1 in majority of the cities in the Bay. I always laughed my ass off when they would give away free tix to sold out shows. I listened in one day where they had some drunk guy they pulled off the streets of the embarcadero come in and eat a puked up cockroach (from another contestant who had won tix to the show) and made him eat it. The sheer horror of the noises coming through my car speakers was intense.. Later that day I saw it on youtube and almost puked.

Yes. I do happen to be a big fan of the show. Whats so embarrassing about it? Please provide valid points. "they suck" is not one. I love the Show cause of Woody. He talks alot of shit on pop culture and the bay area and I love him for that. Today he got some hate mail from some bitch named Brandi and she left her number on the email. They called her and the bitch never responded. They tried numerous times thru out the show too. Hes a good story teller. I can relate to alot of what he says. It wont be long before they are syndicated. Another thing to is they are open to you calling/emailing them and telling them how much they're terrible. I highly recommend it. They would LOVE to hear from you.

I went to BFD '97 w/ The Cure, Blur, Erasure, Social Distortion, Space, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Third Eye Blind, Echo and the Bunnymen, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Dick Dale.

I also went to '04 w/ The Beastie Boys, The Strokes, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, The Stills, Death Cab For Cutie, Bad Religion, The Von Bondies, Viloent Femmes, Yellowcard and Communique.

I am going this year purely for these kats in the subsonic tent:

Moby
MSTRKRFT
DJ AM
Mike Relm
DJ Omar
DJ Miles

This is worth the total of $38 that I paid for 2 tickets.

The only thing is that they would advertise if Moby were doing a live set, so I must assume that he is just DJing, which sucks because his new album is pretty good.

Yes. I do happen to be a big fan of the show.

I went to the free Bravery show at the Bottom of the Hill and the Woody show was utterly retarded, they asked inane questions, stumbled over their words, embarrassed themselves and annoyed the shit out of the band and crowd. I would have boo'd into their faces/microphones while they were on stage making retards of themselves, except that would have in turn looked bad upon the band. Live 105 has sucked for a very long time, lets say '95/96.

You also probably think Howard Stern has something to contribute to society as well.

Where do I start? How about simply because the show is just irrelevant as hell. Is that good enough? Who really gives a fuck what the latest "top 5 ways to dump a guy" list says in the latest Cosmopolitan magazine (and yes, that is where they get their fucking ideas from)? Do you really care to hear about that kinda stuff? The best pick up lines for a bar? I mean really, that is some of the shittiest radio I've ever heard, and the thought that someone would actually wanna tune in, and listen to that over actual music is just plain mind boggling.

And Woody and the crew talk a lot of shit about pop culture and you love them for that? Sure sounds like a recipe for success, except oh wait, it's not. That's why they've moved from one town to the next with their bullshit show, because sooner or later, people realize it's fucking pointless and complete garbage.

And don't sit there and honestly tell me you that you like Dennis the Menace or whatever the fuck he goes by. He is the most annoying out of all of them. He thinks because he's knows some basic html, how to upload videos on youtube, and runs around with a macbook air and clothes and hats that are too big for him, that he is some kind of hipster god that people will worship....when the facts are he is nothing more than the worlds biggest douche bag with the most annoying voice to come across FM radio waves.

And Greg? Live 105 was better off when he was back in the control room keeping his mouth fucking shut. This is a typical exchange involving Greg:

Woody: So uh bagpipes might be related to global warming...

Greg: OH MY GAWD!! SHUT UP HAHA HEHE *SQUEAL*

Seriously, the show and the staff are just as irrelevant as hell. And their music tastes suck. The basic playlist for that show consists of Sublime, The Bravery, Dani California, and the Killers.

Awesome show you got there bud! :thu

:rolleyes

:thu

:rolleyes

They were hired by Shawn Demery to work for Live 105 because they needed a morning show to replace Howard Show.
oh well big deal. You don't like them its ok. You could join the rest of the others. Take a number.

Its cool, we are just giving you a hard time.

There's more though, after the free gig we went to the Bravery's show at the Fillmore and ran into Sam Endicott outside the venue and I made a joke about the people of the Woody show to him and he rolled his eyes and said 'I don't know what was up with that.'

I'm still waiting for the Bravery and Killers to go at it.

I am going to get so blown to Cypress Hill while they play.

The Hundred Days are an amazing San Francisco band that everyone needs to check out. They bring back a presence and sound that reminds me of what made bands such as The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division, My bloody Valentine, and Radiohead great. Amazing singer, amazing guitarist/keyboardist, drummer, bassist, a band full of musical geniouses. Check out thier myspace- myspace.com/thehundreddays They're one of my favorites. I'm also stoked to see MGMT, MSTRKRFT, Santogold, and Love Like Fire :D
