Amazon posted a clip of the new Weezer single. It's called Pork and Beans and it sounds awesome. Reminds me of the Blue Album.

Well it is the Red Album. The color discs have all been good. Pinkerton is the only amazing non color album.(not that it wasnt obvious)

None of their albums have sucked. Songs 1-7 on Maladroit were fucking awesome. It was songs 8-13 that killed the album.

Songs 8-13 killed the album? Slave and December are two of the best songs on Maladroit. Fall Together is pretty sweet too.

Agree with this. The only song I really, really liked on Green was Don't Let Go, and maybe Island in the Sun.

I actually totally digged their '05 set. I'm sure in part because it was my first coachella, and my first time listening to live music high, but I really, really loved that set. I'd definitely love them to get added to Friday, and I'll for sure be getting Red.

Island in the Sun and Hash Pipe. Don't Let Go was okay.

I always had a problem with the way Green's guitar solos were all simply reiterations of the melody...

I agree with the make believe statement. The Coachella set was flat to me. I was really looking forward to it and it just was not that enjoyable.

It's time for Rivers to throw in the towel. Well, he should have a long time ago after Pinkerton.

The issue here is clearly with that last shiny piece of crap. It had potential but way way too polished. People need to stop with the Pinkerton shit. It's amazing and probably in my top 10 favorite albums but you are comparing Weezer w/o matt sharp to weezer w/matt. Different players= different sounds.

It's stupid, but I adore Love Explosion (#12). It's the only thing on that album that gets stuck in my head.

i thought maladroit was significantly better than Green, at least it was interesting...

Agreed...Green Album is my least favorite. Hash Pipe was a good single, but overplayed. Don't Let Go is not bad, but if it was on the Blue album, it would be the worst song. Knock Down...is tolerable. I can't even think of any other songs on it.

Pinkerton >>>>> Blue>>>>>>>>>>>>>Maladroit>>>Make Believe>Green

Slob is a great song on Maladroit. Pinkerton was an odd one for me. I saw them on the Blue tour at least 5 times in Chicago. They were playing constantly and even opened for "Live" once lol. Anyway it was awesome stuff, then Pinkerton came out and i didn't really get it. I didn't listen much to weezer again until late 2000. Then I purchased Green and loved it, then Maladroit and thought it was just ok. Then I revisted Pinkerton and was like WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I BEEN MISSING ALL THESE YEARS. I'm always slow with this shit and then it hits me like a ton of bricks. Make Believe was disapointing. I can only assume Matt Sharp was the balls of the band and helped with the edgier high energy sound I loved on Pinkerton. I don't know, I guess Rivers lyrics were really what sold that album to me but Make Believe was a way over polished turd. The songs were ok and fun, nothing terrible but it sounded over produced and as bad as they want to be arena rock stars they really need to stick to theaters and big clubs.

I haven't heard anything from Red yet but i'll check it out for certain as Pinkerton is a top 10 album of all time for me. I love their video capture dvd as well.

Exactly. It sure isn't a Blue album or Pinkerton... but it is much, much better then Make Believe and Maladroit.

Make Believe is their worst record. I tried listening to it twice and haven't bothered since. It is their only album I don't own.

I would put Pinkerton above Blue. Pinkerton is more spontaneous and Blue was played out so heavily that it kind of bothers me now. Still great songs, don't get me wrong, but I really like Pinkerton.

And that Cobain is Rivers site kills me.

Their live video of My Name Is Jonas from before they were Weezer and were more of a metal band is especially interesting. Lots of gems on that DVD.
