Trying to decide if this is worth $63 bucks...

Cyndi Lauper
The B-52s
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
Andy Bell from Erasure

I love all four, and I've never seen the first 3. But it's in frickin' Phoenix in late June, which I try to avoid, on a Wednesday. And seriously...$63? That's for Club Level...floor is $78 and it's like $200 for Orchestra pit. There's also $45 for balcony, but the Dodge Theater balcony sucks.

Also, I'm straight.

YES! B-52's and Joan Jett? C'mon! How could you not? If Joan Jett was playing the Vancouver show, I would definately going. I am tempted with just the B-52's, Joan Jett would seal the deal for me.

Wait... Marc, you haven't seen Joan Jett? Now you HAVE to go. Joan Jett & The Black Hearts are amazing live. I have seem them twice and enjoyed both times thoroughly.
Also, all the reviews I have read on the current B-52's tour have been very, very positive. So it should be a most excellent show.

My cousin was going to go to this but opted instead for floor seats (those in the $175 range) for George Michael.

He isn't straight.

You should have gone last year... This year's is okay, but nothing too great.

Erasure and the Dresden Dolls were amazing, though. =D

Sounds like a good lineup, but not enough to make me wanna go.
Straight.

And George Michael sounds like it would be money better well spent, but between Lolla and other stuff, I doubt I can make any of his Florida shows...

I'll be going to True Colors at LA Greek - I went last year & it was gaytastic!

Yeah, it's the whole Joan Jett thing that has me intrigued. She doesn't come out west often. I've already seen Erasure, and B-52's and Cyndi Lauper are potential State Fair / Fiesta Bowl Block Party type acts.

I totally forgot that I promised to buy George Michael tickets for my friend. I got on Ticketmaster late that afternoon and still managed to get her really decent seats. She didn't want to be on the floor, but I got her lower level, 9th row, relatively close to the stage. In fact, there were side view seats in like the 3rd row still available. And there were floor seats 2/3rds back.

I'm thinking that won't sell out.

FUCK! I kinda have to go, don't I? I mean, I can always find the money, but I'm really trying to cut back the unnecessary spending..

This might qualify as necessary.

I miss Balsam shampoo and conditioner. I never knew what the hell Balsam was, but it made your hair smell good without being identifiable. Now, I always smell like apples, because everything else is jasmin and lavender and shit like that.

I'm sure there are other option, but I'm cheap so I always buy Suave. Does anyone still make Balsam stuff?

Floor seats for Seattle are $249! WTF? I have never seen tickets priced that high - I wonder what the scalpers will be asking the night of the show.

The Police were $249.

I payed my $95 and sat in the back. And it was still a ripoff.

EDIT, oh and based on the tickets I got offered the other day hours after it went on sale...the scalpers will be asking about $75 for those $249 tickets. :D

I just looked up "best available" for George Michael in Phoenix.

I got offered section 114, row 18.

On MONDAY, I bought my friend section 114, row 9.

Take your time on this one, kiddies....

you are forgetting a few things..

people like rosie o'donnell and that gay guy from this years american idol will be there to 'host' or whatever.

between each band set up, there is LOTS of speehes about Human Rights and Equal Rights and.. blah blah blah.. Cyndi comes out and cries about how gays aren't equal..

joan will tour again i'm sure, so save your money really. i don't think you'd have a good time.

I'm seeing the B-52s on their own tour. Should be a much better experience with a full set and without all of the speeches and whatnot.

I really dislike the Dodge Theater for rock and roll. It's too sterile.

but that lineup is really great. I've seen the B-52s twice (about 25 years apart) but not seen the others. And I love Joan Jett. (put another dime in the jukebox baby).

I am going to play this by ear but would seriously consider going. Does that make me straight but questioning?

I went to True Colors at Greek Theatre in Los Angeles & it was a great 4 hour, non-stop show. The highlights were the B-52s, who would be a GREAT act at Coachella & Wanda Sykes - who would be great if Coachella had comedy back again.

gaypalmsprings

yes, puppini sisters was an act. i had never heard of them. they sang silly songs & behaved silly. reminded me of the gong show, sort of. they were on so early, even Carson Kressley (sp) noted that there were like 47 people in the audience.
