so when is this thing going to be released?
their playing for the first time in over 7 years tonight in Hollywood, but I thought they had planned to release a full tour 2day since their website talked about something big happening today?
Will they just announced the tour 2marro morning?
they DO have a new website, that talks about the first leg of the tour being in
May 17, 2008, Columbus OH US Columbus Crew Stadium
May 18, 2008 Camden NJ US Susquehanna Bank Center
May 23, 2008 Indianapolis IN US Indianapolis Motor Speedway
May 31, 2008 Holmdel NJ US PNC Bank Arts Center
June 01, 2008 Mansfield MA US Tweeter Center
July 12, 2008 Toronto ON CA Downsview Park
Not mentioned on the website, they will also be playing
Monday, 5/26/08 Stone Temple Pilots Mohegan Sun Arena Uncasville, CT
and
Tuesday, 6/3/08 Stone Temple Pilots The Fillmore Detroit

According to Kroq, STP will be also be playing the Hollywood Bowl this summer
More dates !? especially with Filter???

they were supposed to have a special performance/announcement today... since that didn't happen at all and there was no news about anything, it probably means something bad happened.

I'll see you there.

I've never been. My sister saw Gwen Stefani there, but the closest I ever came was the Dylan show last July. (Glad I didn't end up going to that -- it rained crazy hard that night and I would've been stuck with lawn seats, so I'd have gotten soaked.) Hopefully Weiland doesn't relapse before then.

Recently departed Velvet Revolver--and recently reinstated Stone Temple Pilots --singer Scott Weiland yesterday (4/28) was sentenced to eight days in jail for a DUI conviction, according to reports.

Weiland, through his lawyer, reportedly pleaded no contest to the charge, which stemmed from his arrest last November following a minor traffic accident in Los Angeles.

In addition to the jail time, Weiland reportedly was also placed on four years' unsupervised probation, ordered to enter an 18-month alcohol program and fined about $1,600.

As previously reported, Weiland is scheduled to mount a 65-date reunion tour with his STP bandmates this summer.

it's gonna be all GA lawn...I've been to rugby stuff there and it's a basic football field...so if it sells out you'll be 100 yards back roughly if you're at the back but looking at the Sheryl Crow seating chart i'm kind of confused at how they are gonna set it up...can't wait to see but for 48.50 and Wolfmother and BRMC playing i am definitely gonna be going to this now

I just got my ticket for Hollywood Bowl. I'm probably more excitied for this than anyone on these boards.

I know I'll get flamed to holy hell for this but STP is one of my favorite bands ever. My top three favorite bands are Tool, Pixies and STP.

Whoever said maybe one day STP will be good enough to open for Pearl Jam, FUCK THAT! Eddie Vedder has to be one of the most overrated singers in the world. I thought he was going to move to Canada if Bush got elected, well... it's been eight years, get out of here! I once saw the Buzzcocks open for Pearl Jam and I thought they were better. I didn't even really like punk at the time either. Yeah, Scott does way too many drugs but at least he can fucking sing. Jimi Hendrix also did way too many drugs, do you hate him for it?

I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I do love Scott. The songs sounded great - the electronic backdrop visuals however, were horrid and distracting though. Lots of checkered board patterns and spirals. Yawn.

They have said they will add a handful of - "deeper album cuts" to the setlist for the future dates.

about the light shows, i saw Kanye twice on this tour so obviously i don't have that big of a problem with it haha it's just when people say the show was great because of the light show instead of the music that's when there is a problem...and nope, not too big on jam bands...dave matthews band is as far jammy as i get and they are definitely not a jam band...

Backwater
07-27-2008, 12:22 AM
Although the connection with the audience is very arguable, the 2 hour + (long) shows and especially diverse setlists = jambands.

Dave Matthews is the Kanye of jambands. Most popular and worst.

bballarl
07-27-2008, 08:04 AM
Long shows and diverse setlists does not equate to jam band. With your foolish logic, The Cure should be a jam band as of this last tour. Length of show and diversity of setlist has nothing to do with whether or not a group noodles with retarded solos for extended periods of time (the hallmark of any jam band.)

man morongo is like 20 minutes away for me. I'm seriously thinking about going. Tickets are 75 though, fuck. Anyone know who is opening? Anyone who has seen them, how have they done live?

STP is one of my favorite bands so I'm biased but they are undeniably great live when they are on but because of Scott's addictions they are also hit or miss. He's been fairly sober lately so most of the shows on this tour have been hits. 75 are the cheapest tickets? I saw them at the Bowl for 35. 75 is worth it for a smaller venue though. Go see them.

BRMC is opening, fuck that almost seals the deal for me. I think SD was 65 after fees, I think morongo has a box office, so it's basically the same. The drive is where i save money.
