think the album deserves its own thread-
its pretty good, one of the best out this year-
every song deff isn't bad
DJ at the end of the world is awesome,
so is Hollow Man
You can listen to it for free on Ilike

That's my favorite track. Unfortunately I don't really care for the rest of the album.

Ok, the new album is good, NOT great.

Keep in mind everyone is saying how good this is compared to their last few records, and why that is true, let us also remember their last few records are crappier than crap.

So anything is an improvement. Life's Rich Pageant this ain't.

see, i've never heard "Lifes Rich Pageant" described as more than a really good R.E.M. album. that is cause for comparison to the new album. neither have been brought into the league of "Murmur", "Reckoning", "Document" or "Automatic for the People". yet.

They still put on a really good show and I plan on seeing them again at the Berkeley Greek on May 31st.

For the Greek Theatre,
tickets r $90, $60 for sections 1-10, or $40 for lawn...
Can you see the stage from pretty much anywhere at the greek, or do you have to get good seats?
I think I'm going for $60 reserved tickets, would those be good places?
Never been to the greek before so dont know what to expect...

The Lawn is steep, but that just means you are closer to the action than a gradually inclined lawn.

The $60 would be fine, but be careful of sitting too far over on either side, as this will definitely affect your ability to see the entire stage.

The $90 would ensure an almost center view of the stage.

I'm so pissed about this three tiered ticket crap, I have been to tons of shows at the Greek since '95 and not one was set up in this manner.

I have already seen REM at the Greek (it was GA) and during that show I chose to watch it from the very top of the lawn, from one of the picnic tables up there and we had a grand ole time. You get a view of the Bay Area lit up, the full effects of the venue's lights and the sound is fine as well.

I'm so upset, the only reason I am still going is to see Modest Mouse again.

Really? Life's Rich Pageant is absolute and complete gold. I prefer it to Reckoning, Document or Murmur.
