Gnarls and QOTSA are headlining every other date and Ghostland is only in Atlanta.

Last year Flaming Lips was just the headliner every tour date. it had Z-Trip, Galactic and other bands at different cities.

“This is the fourth year of the SoCo Music Experience and it continues to become more and more popular every year,” said Laura Petry, Southern Comfort, Brand Manager. "With the state of our economy, people have the chance to go to a fun music festival without having to pay $50-$150 for a ticket. It should be a great day with your friends.”

SoCo is gross, though.

I went to the Madison one last year, free Cold War Kids and Flaming Lips was not a hard decision. Black Keys would be most excellent. Gnarls or QOTSA wouldn't be too bad for free, either. Plus a bunch of So Co/Lime is always a good move.

Against Me! is replacing Queens of the Stone Age [ tickets ] as the headlining act of the May 17 Southern Comfort Music Experience at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, according to a press release.

Among the acts supporting Against Me! will be Ghostland Observatory Supersuckers Ryan Shaw and Bang Camero. The SoCo Music Experience is free to those 21 and over.

Last year they were free, ticket-less general admission festival-style shows. The one in Tempe in 2007 was never close to capacity, whatever that would be.

You just show up and show your 21+ ID and you can go in. I went in, saw a couple bands, left with a friend to get dinner and watch playoff baseball and then went back in and saw more bands.

I did find the local Phoenix/Tempe alternative music station. Oh man, this station looks so terrible. It makes KROQ look like the greatest station ever.

Just look through the site, they have something called the hot pregnant MILF contest, they have the naked concert report where listeners read the upcoming concert calendar and take their clothes off....

Awesome fun times. No one was there, weather was perfect and they had in and outs open to all. No one drove so out of the 100 cars that were there I was able to walk about 50 feet from the stage to my car and drink from my cooler. I pray they bring it back next year. No cr*** sightings.

Favorite line, Cee-lo "I love drinking my whiskey holds (his cup up)......especially crown royal." hahaha the promoters must have pissed him off. Also another good line "Im contractually obligated to play this one here it goes." He proceeds to play crazy in one of the most uninspired melancholy tones ever.

Bassnectars set seemed a bit down played for the boozers also. Dead confederates are fucking awesome. The bassnectar after party was incredible. One of the best sets I have ever seen him do. With lots of new material. The bass was thumpin' so hard that when I went outside to cool off I thought the front windows were going to blow out. Vibesquad and MU$A crushed it also, they set it up for Lorin to knock it out.

If this is true, I'll probably make the trek to SD... Assuming I have nothing else going on. The last time I saw Common was at HOB Anaheim, and they must have oversold the show because you could not move around AT ALL. Upstairs, downstairs... pretty much until you were outside the venue.
