I hold Cobain in no high respect. Maybe even a little contempt. And this still makes me ill.

So it's just a Converse One Star with Kurt's name stitched on the outside and something lame written on the sole? Lameness.

I actually have a pair of black One Stars. I tracked them down years ago online because no b&m store had carried them for years. Now they are available at Target for half what I paid.

Now if I wear them, I'll be reminded of these abominations. Thanks for nothing, Converse.

The Joy Division New Balance shoes were never produced. One pair was made as an art project.

Damn if Cobain hadn't already killed himself he certainly would have been pulling the trigger now.

But then... If he hadn't killed himself these shoes never would have been made so...

that is severely fucked. i was pissed when his journals were published...but this is obscene.

JClemy

That is pretty freaking bad. The thing with the journals was at least it was insight into his life. Kinda stealing his secrets a little but I enjoyed them.

yeah it was insight into his life, but he was a private person and never would have wanted that. i read a few pages in a bookstore, and then i felt all dirty and wrong...

the Kurt Cobain Converse are being produced with the full cooperation and approval of Courtney Love

I think you're wrong about that. One of the very first pages reads "PLEASE READ MY JOURNALS AND TRY TO FIGURE ME OUT". Almost every thing he wrote (journal entries/songs) was a cry for help that most people were ignoring until it was too late.

The multi eyelet/elastic lace chucks by Varvatos are by far the best thing that have come out of that collaboration.

ive never read them (out of respect? or something i dunno. not to be critical of those who did. just sort of a personal choice)

but isnt there a page that contradicts that somewhere? thats like dont read my journals or something. i dunno. and arent they a hodge padge of a few journals? so then doesnt that mean they might of omitted things? i mean who really knows right

Courtney sold at least a quarter of her Cobain rights to Martha Stewart. Maybe that's where it came from.

Ok, I'm going to work now, when you wake up this morning, please read my diary. Look through my things, and figure me out."

I watched "Live, Tonight, Sold Out!" last night and, while they rocked very hard, the whole thing was kind of sad. Not because he is dead or anything, but because you could see he was hurting. Kurt was obviously a likable guy, and an intelligent guy (as are Krist and Dave), but clearly couldn't take the weight of being the spokesperson for a generation. I don't think many people can carry that burden, especially when you aren't trying to be that person. He obviously just wanted to play music. But he couldn't just do that.

That said, I think Courtney Love killed him and that Kurt was just going to stop playing music. That psycho bitch.

03-16-2008, 11:35 AM
Live, Tonight, Sold Out! was sad for me because I loved the interviews but couldn't stand watching them be such annoying cunts with droning 10 minute long feedback solos at their live shows. Ugh. I would want to kick the shit out of a band that made me put up with that at their show.

menikmati
03-16-2008, 11:43 AM
they never played 10 min feedback solos...they might have jammed a few times during endless nameless or during the very end of sets, but never during any of their standard songs, did they ever play droned out solos.

thelastgreatman
03-16-2008, 12:44 PM
I don't mean a real solo, I just mean their are parts of that video where they show them just groaning feedback through the PA for what seems like forever.

everyone wants to be understood. i cant take that comment seriously...from my self-prescribed analysis of kurt (which admittedly, deciding who he is as a person based on my own fucked up shit is worse than reading his journals for sure) i just dont see him as someone who would want his thoughts made public. perhaps for someone close to him to take the time to understand, not the whole fucking world...
