So if they were to reunite in the future, how high up do you think they would be billed? Both Sparta and Mars Volta suck balls now.

i think theyd take the second or third spot on the bill. it will never happen though

i'm pretty sure if atdi had a reunion they'd have to be number one. i severely doubt it will happen (although i can always hope and pray) but no band has had more influence on music over the past ten years...in my humblest of opinions :)))

actually i'd have to agree with you on the influence part, except a lot of the bands have been horrible...but nothing gets me feeling nostalgic like some good old Vaya...

They would be a headliner, but wouldn't be anywhere near as big as the RAGE announcement...

Also wouldn't play same year as RAGE...also, you know...aren't getting back together.

first off, atdi were lame. ive never heard anyone so horridly off key in my life.
however, the mars volta are now one of my favorite bands ever and continue to put out one mindblowing album after another. plus he (cedric) learned how to sing, amazingly i might add.

sparta sucks though. absolutely terrible.

ATDI will never reunite. I read an interview with Cedric where he sort of dismissing all the music that he made with ATDI.

“Everyone was attracted to us because we put on a good live show. But there were never really any memorable songs or melodies with that band. The sound really stemmed from us being a 20th-generation version of what had happened in Washington, DC, and in San Diego. As offensive as it sounds, it was very white, linear music and I wasn't having that. I was bored.”

I really love The Mars Volta but it's a different style of music. Apples and Oranges my friends. TMV puts on one hell of a live show too.

Wow. Ive never read that qoute before. Cedric is kind of a dick. I mean im sure he's just being honest but seriously why didnt he just say "Hey all you people who love ATDI...well, you guys are kind of lame because that band wasn't that
good." Oh yeah and the liner notes to Amputechure are mad pretentious. I love both ATDI and MV but this guy is an Asshole fo' sho'.

theres no denying that cedric and omar are pretentious assholes but i at least give them credit for doing wild outlandish things. Clearly at the drive-in>mars volta and sparta (although i like both)

WHA???? Give me a break. Good band, but c'mon - they didn't invent their own sound, let become the most influential band.

I'd love to see them play again though. They'd probably get the outdoor stage...no way in hell would they headline. You can't seriously believe that they are comparable to Rage, Tool, RHCP, etc.

They would get the main, its a reunion. And if it happend it wouldnt be taken lightly. I would say 3rd on the line up for sure.

Maybe they'd get the main, but no way that they'd headline. They just were never that big.

I enjoy ATDI, TMV, and Sparta.

To each his own I say. I'd like to see them all live, but considering that ATDI will never happen, I'll settle for TMV and Sparta.

The Mars Volta are awesome, but Sparta absolutely sucks. ATDI couldn't headline, but I bet they could get a spot in the second row.

the only thing i like about Sparta now is their new guitarist, Keeley. But then again i am a huge Denali and Engine Down fan. Wiretap Scars does hold a special place in my heart from when i was younger

De-Loused in the Comatorium was just the logical evolution of Relationship of Command.

Relationship = De-Loused > ATDI > Sleepercar > Frances the Mute and other TMV > Sparta > Omar solo

backed.

The Mars Volta doesn't have the raw and gritty energy that At The drive-in had. In fact, i prefer Sparta over At The Drive-In on the simple more-about-the-rock factor. The Mars Volta is better i guess if you want to sit down and hear 9 min songs but they lack the FUN factor that At The Dive-In had. Sometimes you dont have to super creative and complex to be great, all you need is simplicity and great execution.
