I thought it was weird I hadn't seen anything about this on the boards. (Not even with the aid of the search button!)

So GoldenVoice is somehow connected with the first NME USA Awards. Which are being held in LA 2 days before Coachella.

And NME is also doing a NME Awards tour in the US for the first time. And just by coincidence I'm sure, Kate Nash is headlining. "With more acts to be announced soon".

And Coachella is actually listed as a venue on the "NME Awards Tour". (Not just on Kate Nash's tour dates.)

Tricks? Sleeves?

I'm trying to get registered so I can see who's up for the awards.

Hmmm...there are no nominees. It's open voting now, with a "shortlist" to be announced March 24th and another round of voting.

Interesting. Wonder if this will mean more additions of everyone who is on the us tour though no one has been announced yet except Kate Nash.

Thou shalt not read NME.

I would think so. Only thing is...

1)They'd probably be on Saturday, which DOESN'T NEED ANY MORE ACTS!

2)Whoever it would be is sub-Kate Nash. So, big whoop.

It's quite possible that whoever goes on this tour is already booked for Coachella. The NME tour has no dates for the 25th-27th. However, it's in NYC on Thursday and Toronto on Monday, so they probably need the travel time. (Ironically, if Nash wins an NME award, she won't be there because she'll be on the NME Awards tour.)

I'm more interested in the possibility of a big name playing at the awards Wednesday being a last minute addition. It would certainly stir up some extra attention for a new awards show, along with some ticket sales.

Just imagine if the schedule comes out that Monday with "NME USA Artist Of The Year" listed in the closing slot for Friday. OK, so it's not going to go down that way but still, I'll be checking the nominees on the 24th.

Yeah, everyone knows it sucks (and yes I get the reference), but I bet they get some decent acts at their awards show.

Don't, or you will be flooded with newsletters asking for your vote on who is cuter... Muse, Klaxons, or The Arctic Monkeys. Also, you will get free ipod emails.

I have a feeling the gossip might be a part of this NME tour. they just canceled their show at the Fonda on 4/19. plus NME loves them.

the same NME that thought the Smashing Pumpkins were headlining in 2006 and guaranteed Led Zeppelin was headlining Roo? Ew.

nme might not be strong in every respect, but they organize some kick ass tours in the uk. here's hoping the US ones are of the same quality.

I don't mind flipping through a few NME articles. They aren't fantastic but I get to read it free so it's worth it.
