If the rest are confirmed, these are the best headliners of any festival this summer. And its in paradise. So, who's going to Spain???

Oh my fucking god. I have been wanting to hit this festival since the MBV announcement but gave up once I saw it cost $1200 just to fly to Spain. Wow. Benicassim not only has a killer lineup, apparently, but included 8 days of camping and is within walking distance of the beach. And all the performances are at night. And the capacity is only 30,000. ARGH. FUCK! I hate being poor!

MBV, Radiohead, REM, Dylan, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Justice, Spiritualized? Fuck!

Yeah it kinda kills the "they didn't do coachella because of the carbon emissions" theory.. they seem to be jet set everywhere else that's hard to get to unless you fly or drive long distances.

In all honesty, I am so psyched about Portishead, The Verve, and Kraftwerk that I could care less if they came to the desert or not this year.

When the hell is Nick Cave coming to LA???

I'd take Radiohead and My Bloody Valentine over everyone at Coachella, except for Portishead, of course.

Seriously, if this shit is true, then Benicassim 2008 is the best festival lineup since Werchter 1996.

fuck it. I'm going to quit, cancel all other plans, and become a festival bum for the summer. let's put them in chronological order:

Coachella: April 25-27, Palm Springs.
Sasquatch: May 24-26, somewhere.
Primavera: May 29-31, Barcelona.
Werchter: July 3-6, Werchter (duh).
Benicassim: July 17-20, Barcelona.
Lollapalooza: August 1-3, Chicago.
All Points West: August 8-10, NYC.
Outside Lands: August 22-24, SF.

june is notable lacking. what festivals are happening in june?

bullokz
03-10-2008, 07:00 PM
How about the mother of all festivals, Glastonbury? Werchter will not be in Barcelona, however, Sonar Festival in Barcelona will be on June 19 - 21! You also forgot Roskilde.

I get back from Australia on the 17th July. I think doing a festival with jetlag may be an interesting experience, but i don't really want to find out.

the Glastonbury headliners haven't generated much interest for me, and without the rest of the lineup I'd be hesitant. especially with their ticketing beauraucracy.

I'll look up Sonar, and I forget who is playing Roskilde. man, Barcelona gets a lot of festivals. I want to live in Barcelona.

Pukkelpop's lineup last year was pretty amazing

you got that right.... Pukkelpop had, hands down, the best lineup of 2007.... and bullokz, you posted that list, and missed Smashing Pumpkins... NIN/Tool/SP is pretty sick 1,2,3 if you're into that sorta thing... and dont forget the unreal amount of electronic acts...+Sonic Youth, MIA, Iggy Pop, Battles, The Sounds.... the fuck are u talkin about, whats so special about it.

It's quite a track to the beach and the festival btw... (if you're camping at Bonet)

haha, someone linked to this forum from the Benicassim forum!:

Fiberfib forums (http://forums.fiberfib.com/viewtopic.php?t=121&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=210)

I've been having a little read, I was quite disappointed with coachella's lineup this year, especially compared to last year, i nearly shot my self when i heard Rage against the Machine were playing. Sigh. Theyre playing the UK at Leeds Festival which i'm going to though so thats okay!

I dont know why you're all so jealous of Benicassim, REM, radiohead, nick cave and bob dylan are all unconfirmed, until that happens, i woundt believe it!

I wish Muse was playing, but i'm very happy MVB and Justice are there.

I tried saving Ģ600 to get to coachella last year ($1200 for you guys) but this year i'm quite happy im a few miles above Valencia camping for 9 days on a beach! :D (rubs it in)

That is what I have read, it is something like a 30-45 minute walk. I still think we want to camp there though since it is closer to town and the beach, plus it looked nicer than the other areas in the pictures I've seen.
