What's a VIP TENT HOTEL CAMPING?

nsite Lodging area, your tent with air beds, new sleeping bags and pillows will already be set up for you. All tents and sleeping bags are high quality. When you are done for the weekend, sleeping bags and pillows will be donated to local homeless organizations. Choose from a 2, 4 or 6 person tent (which sizes range from 200 to 400 square feet).
ahaha :D

JClemy
03-04-2008, 03:59 PM
$350 a person. Thats pretty lame. This is pretty cool though "When you are done for the weekend, sleeping bags and pillows will be donated to local homeless organizations." I suppose if you're already spending that much money to travel overseas it might be nice but you wouldn't meet as many people. I mean it's only about $90 a night after taxes but still. I'll stick with my $14 a night.

JClemy

No, I don't think it does.

If you are coming from ovwerseas than you don't need to bring all of your camping gear. I wonder where this will be set up.

Holy shit that sounds awesome. I wish my husband would want to do this. I'd trade my resort room for that.

i already have one of those vip tents. i'm not even going to use it. i think i might set fire to it at the end of the fest so they can't give it to homeless bums

If they included a portable air conditioner it would be worth it.

But Im preparing this trip for a while..so..Im ready for anything!!!! sounds awesome but expensive. if there is access to the "regular" campgrounds area benefits (movie, bar/food, cyber cafe, etc), i may have to try this some year. assuming they keep it up.

NuttyVic
03-05-2008, 03:04 AM
Ya they have access to the regular campgrounds. The only diference is that this area has security and only who is staying in this area has a wristband and people can only access that area if they are with someone that has the wristband.

sbessiso
03-05-2008, 04:14 AM
dude, they make light, very portable tents for 1-2 persons, you could easily travel with it, i feel the VIP camping is such a waste of money and can go to much more important things *coughdrugscough* or water, food, shirts etc. etc.

MassiveChemicalPunk
03-05-2008, 04:55 AM
Look at it this way, do the tents have A/C?

NO.

Not worth it. Hello Hotel.

Did all those other "onsite hotel" options go on sale as well? Wasn't there a crazy one that cost $2000 or something?

I figured they had dumped this idea, since we hadn't heard anything about it for a while.

EDIT...never mind, it's on there.

To be fair, these aren't just tents. The smallest one is 200 square feet. My wife and I just got an 80 square foot tent, and it seems so roomy.

It seems like when that webpage leaked, these looked like they were going to be like those cabin tents you'd see in the Wisconsin Dells. Like in National Lampoons Vacation.

Cool idea but I'll just stay in my hotel room with A/C.

The amtrak page should be done by tomorrow. Still details to figure out. You guys really dont realize how many details I have to get before posting a page and even then you have a billion more questions. part of what i do is think of as many of those questions before hand to get answers before we post with some vauge info like, ya we got these expensive tents, wanna camp at one? that wouldnt be helpful would it? no. so i try and find out stuff. i spend most of my day finding out stuff and updating the website that people say is not updated. sorry im ranting now, im just on a roll. big news - one of the bands sneezed today. I will try and get that on the home page soon.

Yeah, PF Im sure the questions are going to be storming in. The safari tents look amazing and include all access passes, in and out privl, and air cond too! I just cant afford 4 g's, or even 2 if I had someone to share with, cool option for those that might be able to afford it.

for someone who is going to be shelling out that kind of money on a hotel and are people who would NEVER camp, hey its not for everyone,i can see how this would be seen as a very reasonable option

Wheres the beef?

Thats kind of why I posted those pics last year showing some of what goes into the making of Coachella. 95% of those who attended have no clue as to what goes into making this show happen.
For all your hard work PF, I thank you.

For once I'm not going to make fun of you, Suffacated--I've said this before but since you brought it up I'll reiterate:

Between Coach, Stagecoach, and APW Dani has been worked like a beast of burden since the beginning of this year. All the complains about slowness of updates on the site and similar bullshit should be crammed with walnuts. The woman works her ass off for us all, and she has never to date lied at all or withheld information without good reason. The lineup by day this year is just fucking brilliant---more user-friendly than anything in the festival's history.

BIG UPS TO PSYCHIC FRIEND!

(hey Dani, will this get me a blowjob at least?)

It's all good Randy... and I appreciate that.

When BBC starts moving equipment to Indio about 2 weeks prior to the show, my other job starts. Its 20 hr days as I work my regular job plus take care of LEOCO fueling reefers, forklifts and gen sets for GV, BBC, Gate City, CV Ice and Empire. Then there are the service calls.
It's a rush, a challenge, exhausting and a money maker until they pack up after Stage Coach.
But PF has been hard at it every day since the last show.....
I dunno how she does it?
Yeah...she works her ass off.

(good luck on the bj)

Hi,

PF, please, do you know if IS there anyone answering the onsitelodging@coachella emails?!

Cause I've been trying to get some answers about my reservation (coming from Brazil) for a week now, and looks like they just forgot about me or the whole thing has just been aborted...
