I bought the new Black Crowes album. I can't wait to listen to it. I also bought the following, though they aren't new releases:

Echo & the Bunnymen - Porcupine (remastered)
Echo & the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain (remastered)
Love and Rockets - Express (remastered)
Wilco - Kicking Television
Pete Yorn - Live from Rasputin Music, 7/31/06

I guess I just overlooked the new Bauhaus and Nick Cave, but I would have considered purchasing those.

The new Black Crowes is great. Really good vibe, has a classic 70s sound. Very much an Allman Brothers feel to it.

Also, how much was the new Bauhaus? When I get paid I will probably go buy it.

GHOSTLAND just got murdered by Pitchfork. Isn't saying much but when Entertainment Weekly likes you more than Rolling Stone or Pitchfork. That says something.

Who cares what the reviews say about thier album... they are a blast live!

How does it compare to their earlier work ?

Southern Harmony ..... hasn't been equaled yet imo.

Cloud Cult has just released their new album "Feel Good Ghosts" for download on their site.

http://www.cloudcult.com/

I'm still downloading so I don't know what it's like. They say it has received a good review from Pitchfork and LA Times, but I couldn't find a review on the Pitchfork site (yet?).

it does matter when an act can't make a decent record. i can't deal with acts that aren't decent at making a recording and playing their material in front of others.

I haven't heard any of it. So I can't judge it yet. But I thought their last album was pretty good. But that are incredibly good live. They are really fun and can get the crowd into it.
Also, some bands are just better live then on CD. For example, I know a lot of people who can't listen to Gogol Bordello on album, but love them live. Also another example, personally, Mogwai on album do absoltely nothing for me. But recently, I watched some live videos and they sounded amazing.

If you download the full Bauhaus album from itunes, you also get 2 bonus videos from their performance at Coachella 2005 (vids: Bela Lugosi's Dead and Dark Entries).
