So I'm eager to start planning my Coachella and square away any potential conflicts. When were the set times released last year? Thanks!

I wonder if it will be the same format Coachooser as last year. I liked the big/med/small print.

It's a magical time when the Coachooser is released. Packing, shopping, loading the ipod, anticipation of a great weekend.

I'm getting a bit tingly inside just thinking about it.

My guess is Monday April 21. It was released the Monday before last year, so Im guessing they are going to aim to have it out around the same time this year.

Sometimes people confuse threads with truth. Funny, that.

are you suggesting threads are NOT truth?

It'd be nice to see the schedule up earlier this year so people have more time to complain about conflicts...like GV cares...

I doubt set times are ready yet. I'm sure there's a basic preliminary schedule or something that has most of the bands in a time and place, but we have to take into consideration the growing and waning popularity of undercard acts, placating the bands and their management that refuse to play early in the day or late at night, additions, etc.

Yeah, I can't fault 'em for waiting until the last minute on the schedule. That's gotta be incredibly complicated. The fact that everyone keeps switching days this year has to make it even harder.

I'm assuming the Coachooser code just lets them enter the acts/times and doesn't require them to recode from scratch every year.

Besides, it's part of the fun. And once the schedule's up, you lose hope for surprises and tricks. Vegoose got their schedule up 2 or 3 weeks in advance last year, and it just gave me time to sit and stew about how lame it was.

I consider #5 being when they actually announce an addition to the lineup. But even GV doens't consider the new acts worthy enough to take the "trouble" and announce the them.

We have yet to see a SOLID addition.

I though the set times were almost perfect last year. GV are excellent at making schedules. A billion times better then Lolla's set times. Also, Superfly sometimes have some pretty inexplicable conflicts. (Public Enemy vs Cypress Hill, QOTSA vs The Stooges, Gogol vs. Battles... all at Vegoose last year)
I am worried about conflicts this year more so then last year, but I don't doubt GV will make them as best as they possibly can. Of course there will be conflicts, they are inevitable, but I trust GV to make the best, more sensible out of all the other festivals. Give them time. No need to rush.

Man, I've lost my faith in additions. To say the truth, I'm comming from a long way to the fest, and I was confident that the Chem Bros or maybe the Prodigy where playing so I could at least see them once in my life. Shitty countries like mine don't have awesome concerts at all. People don't even know what INDIE MUSIC is here, If I stay here for the rest of my life, I'm bound to get 80's and 90's band reunions tours in .... 20 years!!!!!!

Still, I love music and I have now tons of bands I'm dying to check out at the fest. I hope I get the chance to catch Chems or Prodigy at some other point in my life.

(Public Enemy vs Cypress Hill)

Supafly Guy #1 "So, how many old school hiphop acts do we have this year? Nine?"

Supafly Guy #2 "Uhhhhhhhhh...two"

#1 "Good idea...put one on each day, draw a different crowd."

#2 "No, both on the same day"

#1 "Good idea...increase single day sales...maybe put a different style of music on the other day."

#2 "That's the plan, we're going to have a jam band stage on Sunday, and a hip-hop stage on Saturday"

#1 "Good idea, but put those two acts on different stages."

#2 "I guess that's OK, we thought keep them all together, but maybe it'd be a good idea to get people circulating."

#1 "Nah...put them on at the same time. Exact same time."

#2 "A little overlap couldn't hurt I guess"

#1 "EXACT same time. Is that ALL the hip hop we have?"

#2 "We've got a white boy band from Minnesota with a ra..."

#1 "Make sure they're on the 3rd stage at the same time. Alright...schedule done!"

There were 41 acts on Sunday last year, this year there are 34... Yeah. Pretty sure Roger's going to get the other stages closed.
