from the coachella camping faq

"Do I need to sleep in a tent?

NO, but you can not sleep in your car in the parking lot either."

you're better off sleeping in a tent though.

You'll be miserable by 7AM or so, if you don't have one. It gets bright and hot pretty early.

Wheres the beef?

This is what sleeping without a tent looks like.

My advice: Do not do it.

Imagine hot how and burnt you would be if you hung out in the sun all morning. You would be so badly burnt. I would suggest some sort of shade or sun covering.

I'm camping without a true tent... bringing just an easy up shader. The tent doesn't have enough breathability... At least this way the breeze can kinda cool us down. LOL

Hahaha nice picture kingsblend. This will be my first year at Coachella and i'm staying at my uncle's place in Riverside. I really regret it and wished that me and my siblings would have camped out instead. It would be a completely different experience that I'd miss out on :( Next year, I'm definitely camping out.

I was falling asleep last year coming back on sunday. That was probably the worst driving experience, buzzed and sleepy. My friend had a midterm on monday and we didnt want to leave in the morning because of traffic.

One of our friends came up with just a sleeping bag and a huge umbrella... and it totally worked... he ended up getting ahold of us and hitched his umbrella at an angle towards the sunrise and parked his sleeping bag in front of our tent and under the umbrella... he slept fine... but we also had a pretty good and mellow set up with our neighbors...

Anything's possible...

Shit...it took me until 3am to get to the Westin in Rancho Mirage last year. Add another hour at least.

Are you serious? My uncle is a little liar. He told me that his place is 10 minutes away from Indio .. :rolleyes

Indio to Riverside is 1.5 hours? I'm sure I got from Indio to Pomona in less than 1.5 hours last year for the JAMC show.
