I've always wondered that.

How is V.I.P.?

V.I.P. is great because there's a full bar and clean bathrooms with no line.

Other then that.... Blah. I'd never spend the extra dollars for it

doesn't mean much to me because I don't drink and I have never had to use the bathrooms at coachella. Mainly I haven't had to drop a bomb and that is what I fear.

Air 2007.....

you mean the band that didn't play until 30-40 minutes after they were set to go?
Was kinda bummed I missed lily allen, but thankfully the disinterest in air led me to wander into ratatat, holy fuck, classics was a fucking great album for touring with (new stuff not so much )

edit: ^ The Y Y Ys were definitely a disappointment! I left about 4 songs in for Digable Planets and wow, that was some great hip hop at Coachella. Lets hope the promoters have GREAT alternatives to live disappointments (cough)Crystal Castles(cough)

My only regret is not going sooner than 2006-! My vet friend took me for the first time and I will never forget the feeling that took over me, it was there for me the whole time and I didn't know it! Thanks to my sfchrissy-I won't have those regrets anymore!Ahhh girl...how the hell did you find this post...I think I posted this last year ages ago...if you happen to cruz by and see this post...I love you and love that you got the experience and always remember there are more of those in the future for us!!! Watching RHCP in 2007 instead of LCD and Black Keys

Not being able to get anybody to go with in 2008 and didn't really meet anyone. Well Sunday night I met a chick while dancing at Simian Mobile Disco and she got me backstage after we watched Chromeo and Justice and then proceeded to take me back to her hotel and uh, yeah.

The next morning I went back to the campsite to find that my tent and everything in it was stolen.

2008 was interesting.

This is an easy one. easily one of the worst mistakes i have ever made..
The day daft punk was playing I bought this hot dog for about 4 bucks that was a bun with what looked to be the squishy remains of a WAY over cooked hot dog.. not to mention it's being about 4 inches long and completely sucked of any moisture.. but i was hungry. so i ate it.. later that night i was in the worst pain i'd been in in a long time.. I was throwing up everywhere, and knew that there was NO way i could stay. I figured missing daft punk wouldn't be that big of a deal.. dear god was I wrong. :nono

missing radiohead because of my drama filled ex-girlfriend, dammit i knew i shoulda just left her at the gate that year, oh well, daft punk made up for it

in 2001...my girlfriend at the time, broke up with me like 2 months before the festival...so I made plans to go without her..

so about the week before, she starts getting all sweet, trying to get me back..follows me to Coachella, wanting to get a ticket there..

creates this huge dramatic scene walking from the cars to the gate, in an attempt to be a drama queen and manipulate me into forsaking Coachella for her..nice try!

I walked away, right into the festival, never looked back and had a wonderful time with my friends that were there

we must recognize where our priorities lie and drama queen girlfriends never take precedence over Coachella

Coachella "07" me and my buddies start pounding 11am in the parking lot every year. so, we carry a cooler full of all types of beer and the party begins.
so once we get through 3 12packs (amongst 3 of us) we bust out a party sized Jack D and drink it on the long way in.. by the time we walk in the front gates were are drunk as hell!! were are acting rediculous and we fall asleep under the hot ass sun and miss the roots performance and woke up. we are all sun burned ang wake up to willie nelson.

"Also missed Black Mountain. Anybody see them?"

Yeah, I left during the middle of Roger Waters to go watch their set. They were really good and at one point said "thanks for sticking with us and missing all the awesomeness over there". So about 3/4 through their set I left and went back to watch Waters. I don't regret missing some of him to go see Black Mountain at all.

2006: Missing it because of a single fucking house party that I got in trouble for...

2008: Watching that diva MIA tell the lights to turn themselves off for 10 gddmn'd minutes as the Paper Planes loop played in the background (forever scarring each and every one of our precious souls) while Kraftwerk finished up and Portishead dropped a most eerie, haunting, epic performance...
Also, cutting out of Waters' performance 50 minutes in to get a good spot for Chromeo during the last part of SMDs set, and an evener greater spot for Justice (at least they killed it)

That was the day I swore I would never allow anything as regretfully traumatizing to happen on those sacred polo fields again.....

i was pretty pissed about the Waters/Mountain conflict, but i'm finally getting to see them in a couple of weeks...

i now kinda wished i had seen Santogold, but even had i wanted to at the time last year, conflicts would still have prevented it...

i wish i woulda seen alot more of Duffy, i know i wandered past and caught all of "Mercy" but for the life of me i have no idea where i was prior...

i'd still like to see The Bees sometime...

Biggest regret: Seeing Hot Chip for about 10 minutes each two years in a row and then waiting until AFTER Coachella to get into them! I am an idiot. Also, skipping MGMT to see Cold War Kids play all of their new stuff that I didn't know at the time. Esp since I will now have seen them twice since last year. BUT who gives a fuck ? Coachella is all about touch/sometimes regrettable decisions.

Wheres the beef?

I regret:

Missing Spiritualized in 99, since they played most of the "Ladies and Gentlemen" record with a full choir and strings. And I didn't see Pavement either.

I got really sick and left before the Stooges played in 2003.

On the bright side, peaceing out of Bjork and dropping in on Gogol Bordello was the best decision I've made in ten years of this awesome festival.

My biggest regret was not going in 2006. Daft Punk got me into electronic music back in 1996 after their Homework album. When I first heard of them being at Coachella i had a mental orgasm. But i had to miss it for a wedding I could not miss. I still regret it. Ingrates.

Tijuana, I was there in 2006 and didn't go to see Daft Punk. That's my biggest regret.

Another one that I had to miss. I had just been laid off and found out that my wife was pregnant. I had to cut out all non-necessary expenses. Some might say that would have counted as a necessary expense, but I did not want have my first child compete against Daft Punk. Maybe if it was my second... LOL.

Biggest regret about last year = witnessing the train wreck that was MIA's sahara set. I've only been to coachella for the last two years but that could quite possibly be the worst sahara set in coachella history. It was so bad I thought I was going to throw up all of my music enhancers. The gunshots still haunt my dreams.

cut/copy is live. but I mean you can always see a band like cut/copy doing a headlining tour...breeders would be a little harder depending on what they are charging and where they are playing.

My biggest regret is to have bought International Will Call Tickets in 2007 which led to me waiting in a crazy line for 4-5 hours without any water and dumbass non-helping security, almost missing björk with a huge headache. it was the day i renamed ticketmaster into ticketbastards. I think they removed the corrected sign rather quickly.
But GV granted compensation tickets for 2008.

* Losing my tickets in 06 and having to hustle to get tickets again in the campsite
*being exhausted during daft punk
*leaving during Bauhaus early when i was in front to miss the awesome set coldplay did
*Missing most of the bands of the first day of 05 due to being in front of the main stage
*seeing Keane, wilco vs any one during 05
*WEARING SANDALS in 07 blisters were horrible for Saturday and Sunday
*Drinking too much and not remembering much of HOT CHIP in 08
*Blacking out in the parking lot on monday morning in 08 losing my nice new hat to some Canadians girls and not getting # of my friends i met over the course of the weekend .funny story i blame it on the cop who told me i had to throw out my handle of rum i was drinking out of and he said i could have one more drink so i drank alot of it in one chug and then i was done

Having lived in LA since 98 and not attending Coachella until 2006! Like seriously, WTF was I thinking. Missing the Beastie Boys in 03. Just plain stupidity.

Yeah I've seen the Beastie Boys 22 times. :o The Bowl (which I got tix 4 already) will be 23. But I pride myself on catching them at every available opportunity and that was a big missed one. Not to mention just not giving myself the Coachella experience until way later. But hey, I shall not miss another here on out!

that I even bothered attempting to watch Madonna. And watching those tards on the bleachers lined up like it was a high school football game (no offence if you were one of those tards...it just looked silly). And putting a Madonna song on a mix CD for the drive up there.

wondering aimlessly with friends and no set times booklets - that wasn't really a regret

not going in '05

getting a late start way too many of the days i've gone

getting lost from my friends in '08 specifically during most of kraftwerk. we would text each other to meet somewhere and by the time we'd get there, the other would have gone to the other spot. we finally met up and saw radioactivity > end of set but yea

other than that, nothing too major

I went in 2001 to see Jane's, and was still so anti-electronica back then I missed Tricky, Chemical Brothers, DJ Shadow... that poster pains me to look at it.

Last year I skipped Cut/Copy for Breeders. Also dumb.

My biggest regret was not listening to every artist that played Coachella 2006 before the festival. I missed several great performances. Take advantage of the links on the Coachooser. You don't want to realize in a month that you missed some incredible bands.
