A few things coming out, but I might actually skip buying anything this week. Nothing jumps out at all. The Goldfrapp in my opinion, is way B O R I N G and completely uninspired. I am so mad at her for releasing this. Where is my super sleezy, super sexy, electro horse ridin diva? Gone!

Oh and after further review - I am finding the R.E.M. single kinda lame. I think I was reacting to it not being horrid when I first heard it, but now I wish it was much better than it is.

Some album art and list below:

Nick Cave - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! (single)

Dolly Parton - Backwoods Barbie
Duffy - Mercy (single)
Dirtbombs - We Have You Surounded
The Afters - Never Going Back to OK
Juan MacClean - Happy House (12")

The Beach House is exactly like their last...

The new Nick Cave rules. But my number one pick is the 2LP Rare Book Room Records compilation Living Bridge. It's fucking amazing.

Goldfrapp is elegant and never sleazy...her new album is a bit slow though. I'm sure it will sound great within a live show's setlist.

Definitely gonna pick up Ghostland Observatory's new one. Such a shame that they're doing Sasquatch and Bonnaroo but not Coachella.

Kidz Bop has another one out as well. They cover 1234 by Feist and do an amazing cover of Hey There Delilah

Easy there chief... I like Goldfrapp.

Her electro stuff can be and is very sleezy (in a good way) and I loved it. She played it up in her live shows as well. Scant clad women wearing horses heads, shaking their tails... nuff said.

The new album puts me to sleep, There are ZERO melodies on that thing. Clowns is good, but that is about it. She made a mistake with the direction. I'm fine with her trying to get back to more of a Felt Mountain feel, but 7th Tree is more Dan Folgerberg than anything, yuck. Unfortuantely, it is pretty much guarenteed it will fail (sales wise), the press have not been kind to date, and she has already alienated, or lost, a lot of fans that hopped on during Black Cherry and Supernature (which are both awesome by the way).

Maybe 7th Tree will grow on me (sorry), then again, maybe it won't - point is it shouldn't have to.

I'm very curious as to if anyone's actually heard the Ghostland, it's tempting to try but there is a slight chance of suckage.

I loved Ghostlands last album and they are an AWESOME live act. Why should this album be any different? This album has just as much chance of suckage as any new album you haven't heard.

My hesitation with the new Ghostland has to do with:

A. The only live bit of them I've was Sad Sad City on Conan and I wasn't impressed.

B. The lead singer's voice can be great but I'm certain he take his faux Freddy Mercury into annoying lengths relatively easily.

C. The great songs on the last album were great but almost a tad gimmicky.

In the end, I'm sure it's okay but I probably need to read a review and hear an Mp3 before shelling out the dough.

iTunes Canada has the new Los Campesinos! album (Hold On Now, Youngster) available today, a full five weeks before its official release date. What a pleasant surprise!

I think itunes should adopt the new release date whole heartedly and not release certain albums ahead of time when they stick to the street date most of the time.

It just becomes confusing on when things are actually out.
