Where is the razorblade option? That would be preferable to either of those two.

I can submit an honest vote...I saw james in golden gate park and he was ok I got to hear it for free while playing with my kiddies on the playground but I haven't seen jack yet...

I saw about half a song the last time he played. Mainly because I wondered why this guy I had never heard of was playing the main stage. His set is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Actually, if you want the Jack Johnson experience, go down to your local cafe and watch whatever loser is there with an acoustic guitar. That's pretty much the same thing.

James Blunt is the Michael Bolton of the 00's.

I find it funny though, boring as he is, James Blunt is 343354% more likely to have actually literally have killed a person than any number of rapper types who like to imply they have. Not necessarily something to be respected, I guess, it's just kind of ironic.

In '06 walked by this guy right when he started playing "where is my mind" i was in shock, then later listening to the actual song i was very annoyed someone in the front row did not throw a shoe to shut him up because he ruined a great song...

The only thing I can say in support of Blunt is that he looks more like a musician. Every time I see Jack Johnson, I just see some frat boy surfer with a guitar.

At least Blunt was a soldier.

This thread makes a good point, it could get worse, far worse.

Oh wait, James Blunt wouldn't be given a headlining spot.

I can't believe JJ is winning. I mean... James Blunt is THAT much better, but still... JJ is fucking annoying brah music. And I doubt I'll ever be high enough to appreciate it

I bought my ticket one night after a long night of drinking cause JJ was gonna be there but damn if I'm not more hyped about seeing Fatboy Slim, Aesop Rock, Death Cab for Cutie, Kraftwerk, Shout Out Louds, Modeselektor, My Morning Jacket, Roger Waters, Slightly Stoopid and YMP!

I was hoping this was asking who would win in a deathmatch. I mean obviously Blunt would use his soldier training but I was still hoping.

Hmm, one wrote a song so whiney that it made me howl with laughter the first time I heard it performed (on letterman, I believe). The other one can't even keep my attention for an entire song.

At least Blunt entertained me a bit (although it was a "love to hate" thing). I didn't have strong feelings for Jack at all, until he took Radiohead/MBV's spot on the poster. Now he can die.

On a strange note regarding Jack Johnson. We had a family get together for one of my relative's birthdays and people came from far and wide including my Cousin from Hawaii who's husband is a landscaper. I was talking to him about Jack Johnson and he was telling me that he did all of the landscaping for JJ's house. I asked him what he was like in person and he told me that he is nothing like the persona he plays on stage. He said that he was an over the top high strung control freak. He said that he was on his case (my cousin's husband) at every step of the landscaping process. His main quote to me was, "I don't know who he channels on stage and in his music but it's definitely not him."

This thread made me think of this.
