I love Radiohead as much as the next guy/girl... but let's try to be realistic here.

All the headliners have been announced. When's the last time they shifted a bonafide headliner to sub status? Radiohead would knock the first two out of the fucking park... and you really think they're gonna bill them under Roger Waters?

PF already said "not happening" this year... and she doesn't say that much.

I'd love to see them on the US tour, but Coachella? Let it go.

Hope is not always a good thing, especially when it inhibits your ability to enjoy reality.

Every single radio station who claimed to have coachella information this year, was dead wrong.

I bet you anything we don't see any additions until March.

It's not really worth speculating. Besides, now, I'll have to blame this thread for jinxing any once possible additions by assuming too much.

hahah, um Purely for the sake of arguement. When was the last time they shifted a sub headliner to headliner status along with another band? That would be never. They could either bump both Portishead and Kraftwerk back down to subheadliner, and add Radiohead, seeing how Portishead and Kraftwerk can both be considered Subheadliner material IMO. Or they could bump Jack Johnson down and add Radiohead, although Radiohead playing Friday wouldnt make the most sense, but Radiohead being added at all doesnt make much sense either :rolleyes

Friday would make the most sense in my opinion (not that it will happen) cause Saturday will sell out for sure it's the best day all around.

I really don't think they're going to be one of the so-called additions. Radiohead are not bumping anyone else off headlining status, and I don't really see them playing before Roger Waters. That would admittedly be pretty awesome, though.

michaelmontanez

because it's "hypothetical." If I had a heart condition, the titles of this thread and the one about David Bowie would have made my heart explode, but that's not the case, and after reading how it's probably not going to happen, a big letdown.

Or maybe the fine staff at Goldenvoice don't work 7 days per week, year round. Except for that I kind of suspect they might. But I hope for their sakes that they don't.

And in reference to the OP: oh jeez not this again.

Anyone who believes Radiohead is going to be added to the lineup is living in a dream world.

I would be thrilled if the boys were going to be playing Coachella, but it is not going to happen. There's no way.

Besides which, I heard Ed being interviewed on 94/9 FM in San Diego. He was interviewed shortly after the names of the cities that Radiohead would be playing were revealed. As we know, the specific venues and dates were not revealed. The DJs asked him if he could reveal any further information and he just mentioned that the California dates would most likely fall into the Autumn leg of the tour.

BillyCrystal's, right. They are not going to play San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara and Coachella. Not gonna happen.

It's time to let the dream go, kiddos and hope for some decent 2nd tier additions. Like it or not, we already have our headliners.

You know there is a Sasquatch thread in Misc babble. If you look there you will find people already figured out who is playing and our source who books Sasquatch confirmed those bands.

Also, a thread about Radiohead NOT at Sasquatch. They will play their own show in August. They are trying to Book the Gorge but its not confirmed yet. we will know next week i guess

radiohead is not officially confirmed for anything.

also, last year radiohead played in berkeley and called it san francisco

why couldnt they play at coachella and call it san diego... or Los Angeles

/\ They had Bjork, The Beastie Boys & Arcade Fire last year.
Beck, NIN in '06
The Pixies in '05 as well as Wilco, Arcade Fire & Kanye

They are quite capable of pulling the big names to headline.

Sass can pull some huge headliners for sure....

however their budget is surely not infinite....

Then again, Radiohead would have to have ALL THREE DAYS of Coachella COMMITTED ELSEWHERE for there to be closure on this matter.

Then again, Radiohead would have to have ALL THREE DAYS of Coachella COMMITTED ELSEWHERE for there to be closure on this matter.

Even if that happened, someone would say something like... "They are doing a surprise set in the Mojave which starts right when gates open. Set times won't say it though." or something like that.
