So I'm not trying to spread brushfire rumours - but Jason Bentley said it not me.

Was just listening to Metropolis (KCRW) and Jason Bentley said he wasn't sure but he heard Fat Boy Slim is off the line up??!! But I've heard him say a lot of innacurate things in the past and I can't imagine GV would let that happen... maybe he's pissed he's got lower billing than Justice and My Morning Jacket. I made them take my name off the poster when they tried to put it passed the Cool Kids.

if this is the case and they don't replace him with basement jaxx I'll probably throw in the towel. you'll miss me, don't lie.

If this is true, I'll be so pissed.. If GV doesn't add some more artists, i will be severely disappointed with them. As of right now, I still have faith in them, but it is fading. I hope they bust some crazy move and everyone that was talking shit on the line-up (which includes me) shuts up.

If this is true.... I will be pissed. And as much as I like Justice, I mentioned in another thread that it isnt fair for Fatboy Slim to be billed below Justice. In fact, Fatboy should be beside the Raconteurs in the line up by day poster. It would make Friday look sooooo much better. Fatboy is much more "popular" to the masses than JJ, Verve or Raconteurs.

I won't believe it till the poster says differently!

Fatboy Slim is billed on the third line just like Justice. Im referring to the line up that is split up by days

Jeeze.

Also... did anyone notice this part...

Ummm... is this guy seriously trying to pass himself off as the band Boredoms?

I think you mean the poster that doesn't have any days listed. The one in the main page with all the bands and no dates.

You are completely wrong there. The masses extend beyond yourself and internet complainers. Jack Johnson's "popular"ity easily trumps Fat Boy, The Verve, and the Raconteurs combined.

I mean worldwide. Remember that many foreigners go to coachella. And I'm not complaining about them, just saying Fatboy should be billed higher. that's all.

I'm calling bullshit on you, you need only say "Bittersweet Symphony" and all the little girls (that may have lost their virginity to that song) and the soccer moms (who wish they had) will be more excited for that than JJ.

Worldwide, indeed, but I'm sure the demographic is like 50-75% from California.

MassiveChemicalPunk
02-08-2008, 12:26 AM
that will mean around 15,000 per day (from 60,000 total) are foreigners. that's not a small figure at all. still i think we all agree it would suck if he doesnt play.

WTF are you on, stupid bitch? Fatboy Slim only played to a quarter of a million people in Brighton. Granted, he's a few years out of style, but he rocks, and is far more popular and arguably better than Jack(off) Johnson.

JJ is way more popular in the US. But Fatboy is more popular than The Verve or Raconteurs.

I have a question for you:

If FBS and The Verve were to play an indoor gig in the UK who do you think would sell out fastest.

I'd wager that the Verve would sell it out faster.

I really don't understand how JJ can be soooo goddamn popular in the US. I mean, he is OK. It really does surprise me he is headlining Bonnaroo also.

In 2 years we'll see John Mayer headlining festivals also then.

The real offense in my opinion is that there was no buzz about Jack Johnson and his new album before he was announced for Coachella and Bonnaroo. It's like he's forcing himself on the music community at large like a drunk frat boy on a emo chick who doesn't realize how hot she is.

John Mayer is vastly superior in every musical facet to Jack Johnson.

But JJ sells more albums (I'm pretty sure; can't find the numbers though).

Also, I'd be shocked if Fatboy was off. But then, I was shocked to find him on the fifth line (of the jumbled poster), so what do I know?

To be fair here..."aren't" refers to a plural.

But that was too nitpicky even for me.

I hope he's not off but in the past when somebody major cancelled did they replace them with someone comparable??

I don't recall the Cocteau Twins or Doves being replaced with performers of equal prominence.

If he did cancel then I say refer to wikipedia entry..
