Let's face it - Rock and Roll is nothing without its beard...

As a Rock and Roll fan and performer, and as a beard enthusiast...I'm quite interested to know - who will have the best beards at Coachella this year...

A few international nominees:

Representing Australia: MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS-The Beards from Down Under
http://www.ripitup.com.au/files/midnightjuggernauts_0.jpg

Representing Canada: BLACK MOUNTAN-The Beards of the Tundra

Representing the UK: Dan LeSac vs. Scroobius Pip-The BritBeard

Who else has a a shot? Who will win the Beard-Race?

Let the games begin...

Yeah, My Morning Jacket wins this one by a huge margin.

John Butler should be sporting some facial hair as well.

I'm growing a mustashe specifically for a girltalk show tonight. I'll shave it tomorrow morning. It's lame and that's the idea.

oh, and just go see them in a smaller city, like Tucson. he was drunkenly hitting on my two friends, and telling us to come to the afterparty. The moustache is pretty impressive up close.

Hmm...I'm thinking I may need to make a tee that says "BEARDwatch '08" and run around Coachella taking pictures of the best and worst beards...

Sideburns I can dig, when done right.

I was on Beard-watch at a bar tonight...spotted one...and when he approached me at the bar it turns out he was a gino in disguise.

wtf? BEARDFRAUD.

I saw Gogol open for Primus here in SD and he was just standing in the crowd after their set. Nobody was even like talking to him, it was really dark and I don't think anyone recognized him. Plus, they didn't really announce that they were opening, so I think I was the only person there who actually knew of the band.

Anyways, I came up and shook his hand and gave him props for the show, he was a very rad and mellow guy.
