LOL...really salty. But yeah, he's right...Salton Sea is a shithole ghost town. You should be able to find a somewhat nice spot, though. Not a good choice if you ask me...it's not close, either. Why didn't you just camp on site? Under 18's in the group?

Last year when I walked out and was high as a kite I kicked myself in the ass, I wished I had saved my motel money and just paid to camp on site. Although it's nice to have a roof over your head it sucks when it takes you and 60,000 other people almost an hour to get to your car than have to spend another 1-2 hours trying to get to the highway than spend another hour in the drive-thru at Jack in the Crack than drive to your hotel. Last year my sister and I walked out at 1 AM and didn't get to our room until 3:45 in the morning.

What the fuck are you going on about? Tooo fuckin' funny! $200 a day on water? What the fuck? How much do you and the kids drink? That's a hundred fucking bottles ahahahahaha i'm laughing at you. Not to mention what i'm sure has been said over and over but they have FREE WATER coming from a hose. Does no one remember before 1990 there was no bottle water market. Ok, so anyway, I camped for the first time last year onsight and I loved it. I couldn't believe how well it went and how convenient it was. I mean they have fucking showers? When I grew up camping there weren't any showers and we were lucky if dad took us somewhere that had a creek to wash up in. They didn't even have these wet wipes in the large sizes like they do nowadays.

Honestly, i've said this before, camping on sight at coachella is luxary camping. With all the showers, portapotties, food, general stores, coffee, donuts, get the fuck out of here, this is not roughing it. Those showers kicked so much ass!!!

I wouldn't call camping at the Polo feilds "roughing it." Personally even if a condo or hotel was the same price as camping I would still opt to go camping. The atmosphere is just awesome and you don't have to deal with finding parking and waiting in line and all that stuff. Plus you can party right there

Get a fake ID, it doesn't have to be good. Or if you dont look 12 just walk in, they dont check. Maybe bring some cash in case you need to bribe someone.

Or get someone nice to carry your stuff through the gate and jump a fence, then buy someone's wrist band since they can just say they lost it and get another one.

I never did the on site camping thing even though I've gone to Coachella almost every year. This year I decided to do it. I just bought my Tix!

I cant seem to find anything less than $250 dollars a night and I cant really afford that. Would it be horrible to drive my car from Maine and sleep in some sort of parking lot?

camp at the shadow hills campground. they pack you in like sardines, but the place is really chill and only a short drive from the polo grounds. management is friendly, they grill up food and sell it cheap and have all the essentials for sale at reasonable prices. by far my best experience!

Luckily I will be staying in a nice cheap motel room about 3 miles away from the polo ground, courtesy of some really nice members of this board.
