I am no foreigner, but last year I camped and to the south of us were these cool blokes from the UK and to the left of us were these kids from Canada....walking around the campground, I saw many people from all over the world. I would say that you should just camp! I know the kids from the UK just went to the local KMart or Wal-Mart (boo!) in town and bought some cheep tents...when they left, they told us that we could have them, since they just bought them for the weekend.

I know there are plenty of options for people not from around here, and (for the most part) the people in the campgrounds are really nice. I met some awesome people there last year and will hopefully meet cool kids again this year!

Good luck!!

I got an agents rate (being a travel agent), it was heavily heavily discounted.

I think I saw it on expedia for like $2000AUD for the 4 nights.
