R.E.M.

New album (April 1st, U.S., March 31st worldwide)

New single next month (according to Billboard): "Supernatural Superserious". Check out a :30 second studio clip at:
http://www.murmurs.com

New attitude: They're finally playing like a "band" again, and they R-A-W-K.

Alternative Music History: R.E.M. was once considered the world's greatest alternative rock band...neck-in-neck with U2. They have "history". There's a whole new generation of kids that are--probably--not familiar with them. Not really. Now is the time to turn them onto R.E.M. Make them believers.

P.S.
Somebody mentioned adding Killing Joke. That would be cool.

Queens of the stone age (another band too perfect for coachella)
Band of horses (totally perfect for coachella)
The mars volta (New album coming out tuesday)
Muse (Too fuckin perfect for the second day)

any patton band (i think peeping tom stole the show last year)
Portugal the man (perfect indie band)

Radiohead, the Chemical Brothers, and My Bloody Valentine are all playing Roskilde...looks like Roskilde is shaping up to be what Coachella could/should have been...

Wow. I may have to look into this instead of Glastonbury. Hmmmm..

Roskilde Festival is held south of Roskilde in Denmark and is one of the two biggest annual rock music festivals in Europe (the other being the Glastonbury Festival). It was created in 1971 by two high school students, Mogens Sandfær and Jesper Switzer Møller, and promoter Carl Fischer[1]. In 1973, the festival was taken over by the Roskilde Foundation, who has since run the festival as a non-profit organisation for development and support of music, culture, and humanism.

It being Denmark's first real music oriented festival, originally for hippies but today covering more of the mainstream youth from Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. Roskilde Festival 2006 had more than 170 performing bands and gathered more than 79,000 people paying for the concerts, more than 21,000 volunteers, 5,000 media people and 3,000 artists — which means almost 110,000 people participated in the festival.

I really doubt they are playing that many games, bands have schedules to keep. They cant be screwing around with a promoter waiting to find out if they are playing east coast west coast or neither depending on sales unless they really dont have any other shows to perform at and goldenvoice is their golden egg.
