Figured i'd put this in the Line-up section so more would see:

Won't ticketbastard fees eat right into that $20 savings? argh, should I wait for the possible glasshouse tix or not?

miscorrections
01-23-2008, 04:57 PM
Amy, Dani said tickets at Glasshouse/Fingerprints would be $285. So this presale does save a little bit of money.

braundiggity
01-23-2008, 04:57 PM
Glasshouse tix are $285 for the 3-day pass. So if the ticketmaster charges are more than $35, save your money. Maybe I'm giving ticketmaster too much credit, but I think the presale will still be cheaper.

microcuts
01-23-2008, 04:58 PM
Glasshouse/Long Beach will probably only be $10 or $15 cheaper than this presale. Factor in gas costs and the cost of TIME, really. And I don't think it's worth it. But that's just me; I'm nowhere near either of those locations.

Thank you for sharing this, Steve.

It makes me sort of sad that Goldenvoice/AEG seems to be putting their efforts into attracting new attendees over keeping old, loyal ones.

Hmmm interesting, $249 for the KROQ one but it ends up barely being cheaper (possibly) after fees, if fees stay under $30. So people are really going to go this far out of their way to maybe save $10? Man the dependancy people have on computers these days.

It's going to be very close which is cheaper, this, glass house or fingerprints. With all of ticketmaster's magical service charges it's hard to tell what your final price will be until you get into the pay now screen.

hmmm i guess i'll get the presale.. but I didn't really mind the drive to pomona to get the hard tickets in hand.. I hope that maybe after they sell the first batch of tickets.. they will release some more bands..

So this would be $300 after fees?

tessalasset
01-23-2008, 05:51 PM
It seems to me like it would be cheaper to buy your 3-day pass at the presale than at Glasshouse. $249 as opposed to $285. TM fees would have to be at least 36 bucks to catch up to GH. But of course if you wanted to get a camping pass too then it would go way up.

frozen pilgrim
01-23-2008, 06:08 PM
does anyone know if we'll be able to get camping passes at the same time?
'cause if not, TMs fees would eat up the savings form having to purchase twice.

Not sure if this should go here or in the line up section, but on the KROQ presale e-mail, they list Les Savy Fav as a Friday band, not a Sunday. Anyone know if they have moved days or if this is just a typo?

Because if they have moved to Friday, I will be a happy camper. Like many, I was disappointed in the line-up, and have decided just to go Friday rather than the full three days like last year (no, not to see Jack Johnson). The only band I was really sad to be missing out on was Les Savy Fav. If they are now on Friday, I will forgive GV for everything.

Well seems to me that the presale might already be sold out. I got email from the coachella@goldenvoice.com and I clicked the links they gave and I got this.

Tickets are currently not available online for one of the following reasons. Please check back for availability.

1. Tickets may not be on sale yet.
2. Tickets may not be available at this time. More tickets may become available later.
3. Tickets may not be available online just hours before an event occurs.

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival - 3 DAY PASS
3 Day (Fri-Sat-Sun) General Admission Presale US $249.00 x 2
Facility Charge US $12.00 x 2
Convenience Charge US $43.20
Delivery (International Will Call) US $2.50
Order Processing Fee US $5.10
Total Charges US $572.80

what the PISS is a convenience charge? also love the balls asking for a delivery when i'm collecting them!

it's annoying that US residents can print out their tickets and have them scanned on the gates but we can't, for the life of me i don't understand that.

Total Convenience Charge(s) US $28.80 x 1
Total Building Facility Charge(s) US $16.00 x 1

I would imagine that you have grounds to argue against any additional charges outside of what you agreed to pay on the confirmation page. Your email should show the correct amount, so I wouldn't sweat it. If they try to pass on the extra $11+ on to you, just say you did not agree to that amount when you paid for the ticket. If they insist you must pay the extra fee, demand that they cancel your ticket. You didn't agree to that purchase.

Luckyface: Glasshouse/Fingerprints is really only an option for locals, though. Those of us who aren't local have no real option outside of ticketmaster. (Which is one of the reasons ticketmaster is so widely hated, I think).

Anyhow, my guess is this is a software error on the website. But we won't know until the charges post against our credit cards.

Someone on the board has offered to pick them up from Glasshouse for board members.

Regardless, even if they upped the convenience charge after your purchase, they are going to give it to you for the price you agreed to pay. I am pretty sure that they cannot raise prices after the fact (I would imagine it would be illegal). If they made an error, that is the company's fault.

Everyone should log into ticketmaster and recheck their order status. I did and it seems that "convenience" charges have increased without notice:
DESERT Tickets US $249.00 x 1
Total Convenience Charge(s) US $28.80 x 1
Total Building Facility Charge(s) US $16.00 x 1
Order Processing Charge US $5.10
TOTAL CHARGES US $298.90

I also just received two community passwords.

Thanks for the heads up!

luckily that did not happen in my case, it must be a glitch. either way, that is some sketchy shit

Definitely looks like a glitch with the order status page. It might be showing the fees that will go along with the regularly priced tickets.

I wouldn't be suprised if the glitch was intentionally put there by Ticketmaster to be "Sneaky Sneaky" and earn sum extra $$$$$
