I'm guessing they won't have a coachella discount... anybody have a clue of how much i would end up paying for say a 30 minute cab ride fromo my hotel to the Polo Grounds?

it's pretty pricey for cabs. from the greyhound stop to la quinta it was a bomb! there'll probably be people at your hotel who you'll be able to split the fair with though. :)

Can you rent a car or camp? If that's not a possibility, I guess I'd recommend calling around to a few taxi and car service companies for quotes. Here's a list of companies. (http://www.palmspringsairport.com/groundtrans.html)

Unless you get there before traffic starts and leave before everyone else, taking a cab would be a HUGE MISTAKE. Plus, how are you going to get a cab to take you back?

how so? i mean I'm pretty sure there will be extra cabs for the whole weekend due to the event, in terms of traffic, i guess we leave the hotel around 10 and that's past the rush hours, getting back is gonna be a bit tricky... I still don't know how that's gonna work.

find somebody to carpool with who is staying at a hotel close by, you can make this happen without dropping th emoney on a cab.

It will definitely take longer than 45 minutes counting traffic and everything. This would be a very pricey way to go.
