i like this shit:
"*Note: When the key is returned, you will receive the $20 deposit in cash. If a key is lost, you will forfeit the deposit and pay an additional $20 for a new key. That deposit will be returned when the new key is returned."

so your $20 deposit doesn't mean jack shit since if you lose the key they tack on another $20, nice! shouldn't the original $20 cover the replacement key???

pf edit.. the new $20 is deposit on new key which you get back upon return of new key.

captncrzy
01-23-2008, 11:10 AM
It looks like the $20 you forfeit goes toward replacing the original key you lost. They give you a replacement key for an additional $20. If you lose that one too, you lose your $20 again.

Lockers are awesome. They do give a lot of freedom to move around without having to worry about losing your shit. Also, If you like to buy lots of souvenirs and tshirts, you dont have to carry them all day.

Lockers were in between the food court and Gobi tent.

Locker = essential.
Freedom of being able to run around with a backback stuffed full of tshirts, souveneers, sweatshirts for when it cools down at night, and being able to leave your stuff in the locker overnight Friday and Saturday was the best new addition to Coachella last year.

They will sell out for sure. And they're really not all that expensive. Last year about 5 of us were able to share a small locker.
This year I got a Medium size.

The small was big enough to hold a lot, actually.

I'm going all three days this year...and I'm splitting with others already. Plus, I only got a small one for heavier incidentals (my sunscreen, for one). Sorry.

Also, the small ones hold more than you'd think. I shoved a couple of hoodies plus some little things in it and there was plenty of room left.

Is a small able to hold records?

Look at the dimensions they give you. Compare those dimensions to record dimensions. Problem solved.

Ya, I am wondering if I will put my passport in there, or just carry it with a money belt or something again this year...... Not something I want to lose.

Is a small able to hold records?

16 1/2" Wide x 15" Tall x 28 1/2" Deep

So I would say yes it probably would be able to, that is a small which I got. I should have got a medium and then I could have shared it with you... As it stands I can probably still share it with you, but my stuff will just get priority.

This is the dimensions of a medium:

16 1/2" Wide x 21 7/8" Tall x
28 1/2" Deep

noone has mentioned how great the lockers are as a stash for empty bottles, since the lockers were placed conveniently close to the free-water booth. I probably had like 50 bottles in there (small locker) last year and treated my buddies to free water that night, it was nice

I'm in for a locker. Last year we had to lug around all our CDs and merchandise on Saturday and it was a pain in the ass. It will be nice to have a place to store sun stuff (hat, sunscreen, etc) after dark, as well as merch. Plus, if you get the $20 deposit back, it averages out to $9/day. SO WORTH IT.

so so so worth it.
it's worth the 80 bucks if you split it 3 or 4 ways.
last year, me and two friends split a large and kept a whole case of water bottles in there, along with two backpacks, and all the valuables from the campsite we wanted to keep safe.

How did you get the case of water in the grounds to put it in the locker? Did you buy them inside the grounds all at once and then stockpile them? Or was security cool with you bringing in the case? If you can do without cold water, stockpiling might not be a bad idea. If you need Gatorade, it might be an excellent idea. i think the past couple of Sundays have been Gatoradeless due to high demand.

took it in from the campground.
there were three of us. so we waited until we were close enough to find out if they were allowing in sealed water- if they weren't, one of us was going to sprint back to the tent and drop the case- we had $$ as a plan b.
but yeah- all three days they were cool with it. and we were clear that we were together- that it was three of us splitting a totally sealed case of water- that we had no interest in resale or anything of that sort.
and yeah- we stashed all our empties in the locker- when a bottle's done, go back to the locker, trade it for a new one.

This looks like a good thing to reserve, because you can cancel and get a refund up to 24 hours before, and the $20.00 could be used as gas money to help get you back from whence you came.

thanks for any replies, I'm rying to decide if I should get one of these lockers, but I'm a complete Coachella newbie....

suprefan
03-05-2008, 04:42 PM
Car, especially valuables. I wouldnt sugest leaving like your laptop or your ipod in your tent, its common sense. There wouldnt really be any risk leaving stuff in the locker overnight cause there wouldnt be anyone around who could even try to break into the thing. If you know you will have lots of stuff and not enough space on yourself to keep it, get a locker. Like extra water, merch you bought, put it in your locker if you can. Being able to walk around as light as possible inside the venue is keycause you dont want to have a bunch of stuff weighing you down.

Yes exactly, I HATED having a backpack during most of the day time sets last year and wished I had someplace to ditch it.

I'm planning on stuffing things in there like merch, a jacket and maybe a small blanket/towel to sit on during waters' set. Best of all, take your bag in on friday afternoon and leave it in there till sunday - you should get through security very quickly.
