I do, if it draws tons of people away from a band as awesome as Mogwai again.

god no...

the only good part of madonna was that i bumped into all my friends in the crowd randomly...otherwise it was a 2hour TOTAL waste of time (and GV's $)

please no gwen stefani!!!!

Madonna made Mogwai so much easier to see

It was funny watching the exodus of Madonna fans that left as soon as her set was done. They didn't stay for anything else.

gah. what a mess that was. :nono never again, please!
people worried about tool fans being there, but the freakin' madonna fans brought the worst vibe i've ever encountered in the 4 years i've gone. nothing like some good ol' fashion physical violence to the tune of ray of light.

and while i'm bitching, i know this sounds uber picky, but i hated that enormous, XXL tent. the dance music was so much more fun in the XL one. scrap the monstrosity and scale back! please?

is my second post too early to blame psychic friend for all that goes wrong at coachella? just asking....

noisemachine

I think the XXL tent was necessary for Daft Punk. It was packed during their set, with lots of people coming out the sides.

I'm sorry but what the...????? Yeah, "Madonna" fans alright. Real Madonna fans paid to see her real concert, not singing in some tent. I suspect that the reason it was madness last year, is that everyone wanted to catch a glimpse. Love her or hate her, she IS the world's biggest celebrity. I for one, wouldn't mind seeing her again, but she rock the main stage!

i admit i was there to "catch a glimpse" (yeh yeh) but i'd vote no. i was miserable, hot, and never did catch that glimpse due to the crush of people and ALL the raised arms in the air w/ people and their cameras...

I know those big ass guys who had diamond shaped mirrors on their forheads and were making out with each other wanna see her come back.

i'd pay extra for her NOT to be there.

GV paid $1M for her (what I heard)... and she was supposed to do 10 songs... I guess be fortunate she didn't do her whole set.

Why? If people weren't checking her out then why would they care how long she played? That's hilarious.

No Madonna, please. It was a real mess. A fiasco. The only blessing was I got so p---ed getting shoved and pushed that I left after the first song and went to see Mogwai. I had never heard of Mogwai, and leaving Madonna for Mogwai was one of my better decisions. I'm a huge Mogwai fan now. I'd pay big bucks to see Mogwai again.

She sucked ass. It was the worst Coachella performance EVER.
Daft Punk made her look like Tiffany.

SHE HAD HER CHANCE AND BLEW IT

02-18-2008, 12:54 PM
i believe in second chances, that being said, she would have to put on an ACTUALY setlist, and not in the tent but at a stage (i guess the main one right)

i think with those two things, she might kick ass....might

If she takes a spot on the main stage I might have to kick her old leotard wearing ass.

I give GV credit for giving Madonna the chance to perform at Coachella. But it didn't work out well. Perhaps the expectations were impossible for her to overcome. Or maybe if more effort had gone into her actual performance rather than on all her backstage amenities and hoopla. I always wonder how it would've worked out if they hadn't shut down every stage but Mogwai's.

Mogwai would have been moved to the main stage and would have blown out the Sahara tent with a vicious My Father My King...leaving the tent in ruins only to be pieced back together by Daft Punk who would've performed a 2 hour encore of Madonna Remixes to make up for her lack of a show...

So who has seen Madge on her own ? She has toured quite a bit, at least in the past, afaik. I'd imagine she is decent enough.

Those who complain about her histrionics in '06 never went to a G n'R show in the early '90s, now those were delays.

or the dark days of Coachellas when the times where more like a suggestion then actually times...by 2003 they have actually gotten on the ball with it...

i saw madonna live back in 2006 and i was shockingly surprised! it was a fucking amazing, well choreographed , high energy concert. one of the best shows i saw in 06! but for coachella? no! she needs to do her own stage production. coachella doesnt fit for her anymore.

kreutz2112

did it fit her in the first place?

and i saw gnr back on 1991 at shoreline and we all had to wait 2 hrs for that fuckwad to come out and play. granted, i lucked out and saw them when izzy was still in the band(who i feel was the heart and soul of g-n-r).

I can't even remember at this point if he was with them when I saw them. It was 2hrs or so of a delay that day too. Thankfully Faith No More had played a stormer to keep folks happy.

i love madonna - but no - everything about her performance in '06 was a nightmare - maybe if it was on the main stage and it was more than a 15 mins set

id much rather go and see her real tour
