View Full Version : Predictions on Additional Acts

Sunday is totally missing a large number of acts compared to fri and sat. also my predictions on the empty slots on the sub headliners. fri - my bloody valentine or chemical brothers, sat- kylie minogue, sun- the knife

i mean come on. a large percentage of people want those acts this year. they would definitely add some flavor to the surprising lineup we were presented with this week.

plus these additions: Broadcast, Dr. Lektroluv, Goldfrapp, Yelle, Wale, Stereo Total, M. Ward, El Perro Del Mar, Miss Kittin,

what do you guys think?

Props for el perro del mar.

I thought Miss Kittin would be there, maybe she will be added. I'd be happy with only MBV though.

My Bloody Valentine or Queens of the Stone Age for Friday.

The Mars Volta for Sunday.

i was really pissed off with asobi seksu, kylie, the knife, dr. lektroluv and broadcast not being listed.

plus didnt Yelle confirm she was gonna be there on her myspace. and whats with goldfrapp being absent as well.

i chatted with Sarah from EPDM a while back and she said she was hopeful to be at Coachella so i was kinda assuming her band would be there this year since the new album is droppin next month. miss kittin needs to be in the sahara this year

I want R.E.M, coldplay and mos def to be kinda realistic, in addition to a few of the already mentioned.

I really hope they add some new bands, because the lineup is dissappointing compared to previous years :/ (I know a lot of people whine about this, I just wanted to join the whining to help pressure GV get some more bands:()

Man, I would laugh so much if GV adds someone even more reviled than Jack Johnson to the bill.

With the additional acts, I recommend that you all aim low and be pleasantly surprised. You start dreaming too high, you will be let down.

I wonder if they would shut down everything except the Main for David Gilmore the way they do at Bonnaroo. Not that that would be a good idea but that could be a reason why there are a shortage of bands for that night.

Anyways, I am hoping for moby, UNDERWORLD, the prodigy, band of horses, or secret machines (NEW ALBUM THIS YEAR!!!!!)

Actually I will! Kinky is much better than Austin TV or Porter. And I don't see why four mexican acts would be too much, it would be like 3% of the total bands, I don't mean to compare, but how many british bands do we have?, how many american bands?, how many french acts?.

I don't see why 4 acts from a different country is too much, isn't Coachella about musical
diversity?

And have you ever been to a Kinky show, they put on a kick ass show

Death

I can think of 3 reasons:
1. I have always seen them at small venues, mostly night clubs. It would be interesting to see them in a tent.
2. I've always enjoyed their show, so I'm sure I would enjoy it once again.
3. I don't know most of this year's bands, I'm doing my research and I'm buying lots of cds, but it's always nice to have a familiar act, kind of a "fun insurance".

Seriously. I really wonder how many single day Friday tickets they're going to sell.

I think they'll sell a lot, Jack Johnson is just 1 act out of 40. Friday has great bands: The Verve, Breeders, Raconteurs, Múm, Diplo, Black Lips, Architecture in Helsinki, Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend, Fatboy Slim...
Leaving Jack Johnson out, Friday has a pretty solid lineup in my opinion.

My Bloody Valentine or Queens of the Stone Age for Friday.

The Mars Volta for Sunday.

This guy got it right, right off the bat.

I was sad I didn't see volta. Queens would be awesome. I don't care about MBV though. There's a lot more I'd like to see, but I would be more than happy if either of those bands were added. Both Queens and Volta has new cd's. And so many people love them both...

here's hoping

You and I have almost the exact same taste in music. Most of those artists would be my first choice as additions, as well.

Just throwing this out there. If GV can somehow convince Lemon Jelly to join this year's lineup, it will immediately make this lineup the best ever.
