Ok, last year we had the Ed Banger crew when they just emerged on the scene in the states for real. Now we have a re-run, with a couple of additions. My question is two/three fold.
(I will go see them BTW...)

1. Was golden voice running out of $$ and elected to bring in some artists that would clearly be cheaper to book than bands?
2. Will the DJ sets yeild something new and unique to coachella that they havent in the past (touring with justice and Daft Punk)?
3. I will be resorting to going to see them, i just want to see and hear something new. Is that too much to ask?

Who's from Ed Banger this year? Busy P, Kavinsky, Sebastian, Uffie, Justice? Is that it?

thank god there won't be a huge ed banger block, b/c that would render the sahara useless for several hours. they are evenly divided between fri, sat and sun.

ya, oizo + mehdi + justice would have been fine by me.

but why the hell are they giving us trash like Kavinsky, Sebastian and Uffie?

Kavinsky alone will play it at least twice during his set, maybe 3 times.

Kavinsky is actually not with Ed Banger, sure he is always around, but his records are released through RecordMakers.

Just stating fact. I know that he is pretty much a member of Ed Banger.

Total re-run. They're overstaying their welcome in the limelight. The exciting thing about Coachella was that they brought new or original picks to festivals. Now it's just like the others.

Busy P is a good DJ and Justice are Justice so it's just the three others who are wack. I think they'll be playing early and in shorter timeslots (oh right because Uffie has like four songs to her name) so I'm not bugging out too hard.

Ed Banger is hit or miss for me. Definately checking out Busy P, Sebastian, and Justice, but I didn't care for Kavinsky or Uffie at alllll. But it would be rad if Justice close the Sahara on Sunday and the whole crew joined them on stage.

completely agree. Busy P is a good DJ, had it not been for him picking some fun tracks and a lil mixing on the CDJ's, DJ Medhi would have gone down in flames.. I would definitely see Justice again, but the ed banger throw down is a broken record.. Uffie rides the coat-tails of Justice along with all the other ed banger faithful..

I am no fan of Kavinsky, but will check him out. I am interetsed in seeing what this first "live" set deal is all about

while i, too, am much more excited about justice, busy p, and sebastian than uffie/kavinsky, anyone who has seen the ed banger crew (in any carnation) live most likely had a LOT of fun - the busy p/medhi set last year was like a huge party, and unfortunately was sorta early and slept on by most festivalgoers. (i think they may have done some other dome mini-set too the next day that i missed for some reason ...) yeah, if you don't like any electronic music or are a total purist, it might not be for you, but if you like to dance or have a good time in general, definitely check them out ...

why do you want mediocre DJs to dilute the above average talents of Justice?
