I'm really excited for:

FRIDAY
The Verve, Spank Rock, Santogold, Cut Copy, Professor Murder, Modeselektor

SATURDAY
Portishead, Kraftwerk, Sasha & Digweed, Institubes DJs (Surkin, Para One and Orgasmic)

SUNDAY
Spiritualized, Booka Shade, The Field, Les Savy Fav, Kid Sister w/A-Trak, Deadmau5

Not the only bands I want to see, just the ones I really can't wait for. The only person I really would really like to see added to the lineup is Ellen Allien, mostly because I was surprised she wasn't added already. Apparently she's in LA the weekend after (and presumably playing a few dates around then), so I figured it was basically a done deal that she was playing. I was a little disappointed when the lineup was announced and she wasn't on it. :(

I think there has to be a couple popular adds to the list. I'm okay with it now, but i'm pretty sure there will be more added.

He did say he had "tricks up his sleeve." i'm sure.

I would give an arm for The Kinks. I'd also give an arm for Jason Molina performing The Lioness in its entirety. But then where would that leave me after the festival? Armless, is where. I need to sort out my priorities and I will get back to you.

i'm seriously debating on whether or not to go this year. it's a flight all the way from richmond, va. At least 1,000 i'd have to spend on it.

does anyone think that coachella east will carry some EDM acts?

Swell Season is Glen Hansard (of the Frames) and Marketa Irglova. They'll perform a few tracks from The Frames newer album "The Cost" and they'll play some of the songs off of the soundtrack to the movie "Once" (which they both co-starred in). Should be very, very, very enjoyable.

This does not even make sense. They make their music on software synths played via live control interfaces ie their keyboards. how is this not live? They are not DJing.

Yeah, they were known for "Our House," but there's more than that one song. Great chart topping band with more than one hit song.
It's one of the best bands on this festival (Excluding Madness and a few others, terrible line-up indeed!).

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Madness was part of the 2 Tone SKA revival, man!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, they were known for "Our House," but there's more than that one song.

According to Wikipedia...

Both Madness and UB40 spent exactly 214 weeks on the UK singles charts over the course of the decade, holding the record for most weeks spent by a group in the 1980s UK singles charts. However, Madness achieved this in a a shorter time period (1980-1986)

They list 9 albums and 17 Top 10 UK singles. I only know 5 or 6. "One Step Beyond" is fantastic 2nd wave ska, though I believe it's actually a cover.

The other song most people would know is "It Must Be Love", but it's not very representative of them. Also, I hear "Wings Of A Dove" on XM Radio a lot.
