Very disappointed with this years line-up. Looks like they are reserving all the talent for New Jersey festival. Wont be going to either for the first time since its inception.

I'm sure you're absence will affect all coachella goers, please, we desperately require you to attend, without you, it's not coachella at all!

Stephen Malkmus, Hot Chip, Justice, Minus the Bear, Metric, Fatboy Slim make it awsome for me.

Seriously, Fatboy Slim is playing. Holy crap. I'm freaking out!

i think many of you are in denial.

this really is a disappointing lineup compared to years past.

don't get me wrong, i will go and have a blast and see many great artists. but compared to past lineups, this is weak.

why? he hasn't been any good in years.

He hasn't been any good ever. Praise You was probably the most annoying song that came out that year. I don't need or want to be reminded of that.

Have you seen him live? He typically puts on an awesome show regardless of his shitey studio tracks.

Not wild about 2/3 headliners but the full lineup IS sweet, thus...

The lineup is not terrible, just underwhelming. However, there are still enough good bands there that I still will attend. Jack Johnson is not headliner material for me. I wish MBV, Swervedriver and Supergrass were there, but no lineup is perfect. I do not let "Pitchfork media snobs" dictate if it is a good lineup. Thank you Dani for allowing all comments to be posted on this board, both positive and negative. I hate censorship and GOldrnvoice needs to hear all opinions, not just from "yes men."

I am excited about Architecture in Helsinki, Love and Rockets, Autolux, Vampire Weekend and other bands.

traviscanada picked out some of the highlights for me as well, but seriously, i can't even comprehend that this is all they have for such a big festival. i'd re-attend any lineup they've ever had, but this one isn't for a lot of us, it seems

I am dissapointed in the headliners. WTF

I guess I will see Radiohead when they play by themselves when they come to Los Angeles. I am also surprised Hot Hot Heat are not at Coachella. Also, where are the Pigeon Detectives, that band rocks.

Maybe other bands will be added or if Roger Waters passes away (he is 63), perhaps a replacement headliner will be added.

Maybe they could bump Jack Johnson and give it to a real legendary band like R.E.M.

EXACTLY. His DJ sets are just so much fucking fun, it's almost unbearable.

WORST FREAKING LINEUP EVER

just because there are a couple of little bands here and there doesn't make it worth spending so much $$$ and time.....

specially if you have been to coachella in the past years....
i have been to a couple of them and i can tell you that this year's SUCKSSSSSS

why?!?!?!
what where they thinking?!?!?!
don't they know better what's good?!?!
why did they choose such CRAPPY headliners?

I JUST DON'T GET IT!

i can't belive this.... i am SO disappointed...

im gonna cryyyyyyyyyy

If I could read only one more name, like:

Basement Jaxx
Chem Bros
Groove Armada
Queens of the Stone Age
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

just ONE of these will make me happy.

originally i was planning to go all three days like i did last year but there is no way in hell i'm going to spend 350 bucks for some mediocre acts and ones i've already seen live. i'm only going to go on friday for the verve, the national, mum, and busy p even though i've seen him with justice numerous times.

Wasn't it posted awhile back that Prodigy are booked for 2009? The person running their myspace screwed up and confirmed them for this year. Like Erol Alkan last year, and now look he's playing this year. Be patient...... Prodigy in 2009!

personally i think its great that so many people hate the lineup, it reminds me of 2006 pre-daft punk and even after daft punk was announced.
how so many people said coachella was never going to be the same after 04 and blah blah and then came 2006 and blew it all over the water and it was incredible and unexpected.. and then last year everyone thought it was going to be the best one ever because of all the famous bands and djs but it didnt even come close, because remember its not always all about the lineup, its about the vibe that the lineup creates, and remember me when this happens: 08 will be a sleeper

"Underwhelming" was the exact word Pitchfork used to described the lineup. Why are you quoting the "media snobs" if you disagree with them.

kroqken
01-21-2008, 10:27 PM
Using the same word is purely coincidental. I do not hate pitchfork media, I just think they are overly judgmental and critical for the sake of being overly critical. Pitchfork media to criticize bands others like just to be "different" like for artists like Radiohead and Beck.
