GV, you really have the balls to raise ticket prices?

270 dollars for a 3 day, after this lineup?

EDIT: Camping passes prices raised too.

doesn't everyone do that? isn't that the point of selling a 3 day pass instead of purchasing each seperately

why are they even selling three day passes?
-are they?
and by that I mean last year the "3 day pass" was 3 one-day tickets and a discount.
so... what... do we save ticketmaster charges? if you buy two one-day tickets, to you get charged by ticketmaster twice?
I'm just fucking confused.

I agree that the 3-day pass should be less, but yes, you would save some $ on Ticketmaster charges by buying a 3-day pass vs. buying 3 1-day passes. Some of the charges are per order.

Man I need one of those, I've been the last few years but with this lineup no thanks, so very good bands missing but what's the point of naming them it's over we are not going I rather travel to a festival with a much better lineup, I'm not on to hate but come on this is terrible.

i can either take 100 bucks off my total flight due to my flight in Iowa being held up on the tarmac for 4 hours, or I still have an unused "buy one get one free " ticket i got for signing up for a credit card i think.

so if i can get a buddy to come to the Roo with me, we could split the cost of one ticket. im thinking this might be the year

Right there with you SubBass.

I decided its a NO for me. I've been to every one, every day, since 1999. When I look at 2008, the only, decent line up day is Saturday - and it ain't that great when you figure in last years repeats. If you are charging $275+ - it better knock my socks off, this doesn't even muster a slight tug on said socks.

Kinda sad.

there could still be a presale. They probably dont want what happened last year w/ people freaking out about buying tix thinking the police were going to be there.
Can you imagine how all those people who aren't going now because of JacK Johnson would feel if they got presales yesterday?

They are going to lose their ass on ticket sales. If your patient you'll get cheap tickets on Ebay & from other scalpers. They aren't going to have an international draw. And what the fuck is with this Mexico City bullshit? Its not like Rodrigo y Gabriella or Ozomatli are playin. There are plenty of Latinos here in the U.S. to market the festival to. They should randomly give out free tickets in cases of Modelo. Heiniken by the way will be $12 a cup this year.

If I were Goldenvoice I would not have wanted to have a pre-sale like last year. That was a great deal, saved us a good deal of money and what it meant for them was less money and the people that paid less complaining about deception.

Tickets are way to expensive!!! I've gone to Coachella for many years and I have to say that Goldenvoice should have only made it two days. The line-up this year is only worth a two day fest. Combine Sundays' show with Fridays' & Saturdays' & bring down the price.

ok i understand they don't owe us shit and thats fine but look at their past top acts:
1999- Beck, RATM, TOOL
2001- Janes Addiction Weezer
2002- Bjork, Oases
2003-Beastie Boys, RHCP
2004- Radiohead, The Cure, Pixies
2005- Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails
2006- Depeche Mode, Tool, Daft Punk
2007- RHCP, Bjork, RATM
2008- Jack Johnson, Portishead, Roger Waters
look at all that and tell me that 2008 doesn't look out of place especially when roger waters is doing a show pretty much everyone has seen, jack johnson belongs at bonnaroo if anywhere and Portishead is great but for closing the night or headlining the sahara not the headline spot. there is a difference between them owing us something and what we the paying fans have come to expect from this world class leading festival that would provide its attendees with something that the world has yet been able to experience. such as the reunions and surprise appearances that we have all come to love. This sub par line up on top of raising the prices just so they can get APW off the ground really sucks for many of us that have reasonable expectations...I would have even taken Prince over Johnson...my 2 cents

andromedarkly
01-21-2008, 10:28 PM
Roger Waters: Never seen him, and I didn't want to shell out big bucks on the tour for decent seats, or alternately, nosebleeds...

Bjork: I was happy to see Bjork last year, but I know people who thought she didn't belong on the line-up...

Colplay: Sooooo many people can't stand Coldplay! I love em, but that's me...

And so it goes...

Past years lists probably suited some, probably didn't and that's as it should be, since there is so much to listen to and see...

I'm happy with this years line-up, especially in the Sahara tent. And for a local guy, I can't go anywhere for $90 and see so many acts in one place.

Jack Johnson though....where'd that come from?

shut up. you can't get mad at people for not liking the lineup and ticket prices.......a lot of people look forward to this all year, a lot of lives relvolve around coachella. for GV to settle with a blatantly obvious half assed job of a lineup, THEN raise 3 day pass ticket prices, not 5 or ten dollars, but 20 dollars, is in my opinion, outrageous.

i'll admit, the initial shock of the lineup since yesterday has somewhat subsided......i'm still not hyped about the lineup though and probably won't be unless some serious adds take form. it's a mediocre lineup AT BEST, and i'm not even taking into account the headliners. even the subheadliners are lacking this year. quit getting pissed at people for voicing their opinion about the lineup......

just look at all the decent acts they didn't get....you know they're there. cat power, yeah yeah yeahs, broken social scene, feist, albert hammond, jr., shit even weezer at this point.

i think there's a lot of obvious coachella type bands that should have been on that lineup, and were more than likely, completely doable for GV.

Hey, I go to USC and like a lot of people I know here, I am not spoiled. It's called financial aid and lots of student loan debt.

Nor am I a fan of Jack Johnson, thank you very much. I had a "WTF?" moment when I saw he's a headliner.
