C'mon,
they had somebody other than Jack Jay-hole. Who do you think??
I say Prince. from the email from La times guy saying they tried really hard to get him.
Or do you think it was someone else?

Im guessing they had Radiohead for Friday, but decided to launch the NY one with them instead.

Well, you can pick one (Radiohead, Prince, MBV) but they had to have someone because Jack Johnson is pretty ridiculous as a headliner.

Paul T had a mental breakdown the second he booked Jack Johnson.

JACK JOHNSON KILLED COACHELLA

I look forward to this festival all year and it's REALLY bumming me out that I won't be going this year because of the shitty lineup. I'm going to have to look into the other fests and plane ticket prices. Bonnaroo is GUARANTEED to slaughter this lineup.

I just moved out here from NY a few months ago...and was so pumped that I now didn't have to fly to Coachella. What a kick to the junk. Now I have to fly to NY to see the better Coachella anyway.

I am guessing that Coldplay also probably fell through.

When Paul got jack johnson he pretty much was saying "Sorry but I couldn't get a real headliner"

And MBV should've headlined day one.

what if it was the current credit crunch and this years budget couldn't be as big as last year's? Maybe they ran out of money after Roger Waters....

if they ran outta money after roger waters then they got severely ripped off.

aside from that....

i mean honestly.....what is the appeal of roger waters towards 18-30 year olds, or any age for that fucking matter???

i told my parents roger waters was gonna be there and they had a complete look of confusion on their face. they love pink floyd.

roger waters = complete waste

forget this sad lineup, not worth the 6 hour drive nor the kind of money needed for the event, but it really isn't the money its the shitty lineup and lack of bands who "should be there" time to look elsewhere, I'll remember the good times that we had coachella, what a sad fucking day...

Rage, this is coming from someone who is a 7 year vet...this line up is the 1st ever to let me down...period...this was the only time I ever even considered not going at all (or at least going just 2 days and skipping Friday...I like the Verve and all but Fri for me is about Mum and Modeselektor)...we'll see what happens but I can almost guarantee that this will be the 1st Coach in the last 3 years that won't sell out...but I guess that means better deals on hotels if you plan on doing that...

it really is a shame they're displacing so many people. they've lost most everyone's faith. i guess it's chill; more open field for me.

don't get me wrong though, i would never PAY for this bullshit. complete fail.

Unless they do something drastic I think they will see attendence fall by almost half per day (From 60k to maybe 35k or 40k)...

Unless GV adds them at a later date, Goldfrapp seems to have slipped through their fingers as well...

me and 6+ friends that are going are super excited about roger waters. not one of us is a day over 25. you've got a point, but try to understand this message board isn't the world. a lot of the people that would truly appreciate this aren't exactly regulars in online forums... but DEFINITELY regulars for festivals.

i think they're called "hippies" still, heh.

also,

i told my parents roger waters was gonna be there and they had a complete look of confusion on their face. they love pink floyd.

lmao. classic.

That says more about your parents than anything.
