Hola!

Hey fellow party animals, I love all my music fests and attend them religiously, but this year I'm doing the camping experience on Coachella and Bonnaroo. Trick is, how do you get a shower and feel "so fresh and so clean clean"?

Is there anyone who is willing to share a shower, if I bring my own soap and shampoo? I'm sure some grunge kids are going to say "quit being a puss, stink it out" but is there anyone willing?

Also, now that cleanliness is taken care of, whos throwing after partys? Campgrounds are going to be littered with them I imagine.

if you're camping on the polo field grounds they have portable showers.

Hi theemoeric, have you read the Onsite Camping FAQ (http://coachella.com/visitors/onsite-camping#faq0-6)? Coachella puts out free shower trailers for the campers, because they want you to smell like roses.

Seriously... the only posts I see from you are pointing out insignificant things that don't matter and acting like you know everything and your word is the be all end all.

Just relax man. Why don't you try adding something helpful to the board.

It is impossible the heat erases that fresh and clean feeling in a matter of mere minutes....enjoy Coachella

lol. sorry. I was entertaining myself. maybe others take my posts more seriously than I do.

and I find it funny being told that I act like I know everything when so many of my posts are saying "we know nothing" (in regards to pre-sale, on-sale dates, etc).

still, point taken. I'll try to relax. my world is not everything.

Hey thanks guys/gals! Im stoked for this year and will see you all there!
If you have not made it over to this rumor/confirm site, I highly recommend it. The guy has even gathered all the myspace pages of the artists for you, so you can just click and sample new music!

If there was a lake, I'd jump in it, otherwise, it'll mostly be the 'euro' shower for me...a decent spritz of fine french cologne under both arms, a head and face douse under a sink faucet, or some bottled water, and a fresh set of duds for each of the 3 days...

That's how I do it in the 'real' world a few days at a time(unless I have a date of course...), that's how I'll do it at Coachella! Stand upwind, or out of the way! :)

first time camper this year... are there ridiculous lines for the showers or are they ridiculously underused?

not sure which answer would worry me more.

The lines can be bad first thing in the morning...however, after a while the showers get underused...so there is a big surge of people rushing to the showers...and then around 10 or 11 am you can easily find an available shower. Just wait it out.

I never had to wait in like and the shower facilities are great. Apparently there are supposed to be even more showers this year so there should be even less worry of a line.

Only time i'd avoid the showers is late at night.. the water can run out sometimes.

just beware that the showers usu. get shut off earlier on sunday and there aren't any on monday, so be prepared for a sticky/stinky drive home monday.

in other words, bring cleansing wipes too :)

The onsite camping page (http://coachella.com/visitors/onsite-camping) says the shower hours are:
Thursday from 1pm - 10:00pm Friday from 6am - 3pm and 6pm - 2am. Saturday 6am - 3pm and 6pm - 2am. Sunday 6am - 3pm and 6pm - 2am. Monday 6am - 10am.

So i'd be astonished if the showers were actually unavailable on Monday. (On the other hand, they do shut off fairly early, and are likely to be more crowded than the other days.

Hey there,
What i have found from past festival experiences, the ideal shower time is early in the morning, like 5 or 6am. There is no one using them, they have been cleaned from the previous evening, got hot water, and then you are ready for the day, all clean clean.
If that fails, the sharing of a shower is a good thing.
And let me know when the official campground/afterparty list is announced, i would like to attend.

If the line at one shower trailer is really bad you can usually just walk to another one with little to no wait. They're all over the outer edge of the camping site.

Oh god yes!!!! Sun. after the show and Monday morning is soooooo clutch! Last year they were closed for good at 6pm on sun or something like that. NO ONE was alble to shower after the Rage set, it was gross.

Kudos GV. You learned from the past and made your future plans better, much appreciated.

The showers were open after rage last year, weren't they? I'm pretty sure I showered every night.

Showering early in the morning did not work out well for me - there was a line right away and I just felt hot and sweaty within a few hours. There was no one in line at like 11 AM or so.

i wish eveyone took an effing shower... last year was B.O. hell

last year:
bjork: everybody smelled pretty for the ice queen
rhcp: B.O. party for the smelly funk-o-philes
rage: rage against personal hygiene

this year:
JJ: you won't smell anything over the AXE
Portishead: everybody will be so downtempo there will be anti-sweat
Roger Waters: you won't smell anything over the weed clouds

just curious, but after showering at 6 am what do you do for the six hours until the festival starts?

you didn't needo to use the word 'clean' twice.

i'm sure you've heard this a few times before with your avatar -

"Fry, I'm an 80's guy. Friendship to me means that for two bucks I'd beat you with a pool cue till you got detached retinas"

i heart futurama.

...so what's this thread all about? (looks around)

I never had an issue waiting very long for showers last year. Mainly because it was too hot to be sleeping by 7 or 8am and I would go straight to the showers and a lot of the time only have a couple of girls in front of me.

I always wore flip flops in there.....and by the time I got back to my tent, I felt dirty again.

The showers that always have no waiting are the "locker room" style showers -- just keep looking straight ahead and don't drop the soap!

The showers with individual stalls usually have a wait...

The only advice I have for showering is don't worry about a towel. You'll be dry once you get back to your 8x8 plot.

Yup. This was the case for male showers, every day, any time before noon. Also, there are signs posted at the entrances that say not to wear shoes, but really, there's no way in hell anyone should go in without sandals or something on. ...and in three years, I've never been stopped.

Yeah, it's stalls or nothin'. By the striking lack of wait time for the lockerroom ones, you see that most guys agree. This ain't Burning Man, folks.
