Anyone else think it would be amazing to see a No Doubt reunion this year at Coachella? I mean there have been rumors of gwen playing, i just think it would be better if the whole band got back together.

it would be crazy, but possibly the 29th? I just have hope that old ska bands will reunite and rise to fame again!

I always thought doubt should be spelled as "dought". Although I guess that would sound out as "dot", like "bought" is.

That reminds me, when my sister and I were little, we would take a random word and say it over and over until it started to sound funny. Like "ham". Just say it over and over. Eventually you will die laughing.

On a related note, I think my mother may have drank whilst being pregnant with me.

I would support them as a subheadliner ONLY if they dig up Bradley Nowell and they sing "I saw red".

Other than that I can go without hearing all those fucking singles that were played to death in the 90's. From faux ska, to ballads to solo pop.

Fuck Gwen Stefani. Bush was better and she fucked that band up too by getting rich and letting Gavin freeload.

For a dynamic and sexy stage personality i'll go to Deja Vu strip club. For music, I go to Coachella. If the bitch is gonna get naked she can subheadline and they have to put it on the big screan and there better be a decent band for her to swing around the stripper poll to.

i never saw no doubt perform, but her voice sounded like a dying cat to me in high school when they wouldn't stop playing this pop-ska bullshit on the radio and she looks manish due to her bone structure, which is something she's probably had since birth.

so i still stand by my opinion :)

chairmenmeow47
08-25-2008, 11:09 AM
it's unfortunate that you can't spell the word "unfortunate", lol.

it's not close-minded. i've listened to them. tragic kingom itself isn't a bad track and like faxman said, saw red is good too. they just represent the third wave radio/pop type bullshit in my opinion.

some third wave bands like mephiskapheles, skankin pickle, the aquabats, ect all were able to turn third wave into something fun and creative, which i enjoy. but i've been a huge ska fan for years and really prefer the traditional ska, like the skatalites, toots, desmond dekker and even more modern traditional sounding stuff like hepcat and the slackers and such. and there's VERY little two-tone i will listen to either.

it's just annoying that with all the great ska that's out there, bands like no doubt and reel big fish made it big because they had catchy tunes about being "just a girl" and girls having girlfriends. i'd rather hear some chill ska with a good horn section. ska, in my opinion, is not about some hot vocalist. it's about the sound as a whole. so for me, having no doubt perform at coachella would be disappointing. again, this is just my OPINION as i've already stated.

but hey, i could always go to another stage :)

srsly? I think 40 oz. to freedom is a more enjoyable listen than almost every Nirvana album. Taste is subjective and i'll take Nowells good times over Cobains misery ALMOST any day. There are some exceptions of course. I dig Nirvana and all but I just think 40 oz to freedom is more fun and just to stay on topic if you have that album then you have all the Gwen you need. ;)

Maybe but Brads voice is certainly better and the influences are rich from reggae, to ska to punk. Your comment comparing Kurts lyics to one sublime song is kind of umm pointless as well....we can go back on forth on this all day but when the night time comes, it's still subjective and Sublime's 40 oz to freedom album is something I would rather hear than say Incesticide. Different moods call for different tunes as well but Cobain was not god.

i wouldn't mind seeing No Doubt. i saw Gwen solo, she put on a great show. although, it woudn't take much of a conflict for me to miss them.

off topic:
i HATE sublime. it was fun the first time i heard them- middle school. but sweet jebus they are played to DEATH in socal! nirvana is overplayed too, but hearing people singing along to sublime is just irritating.
also, sometimes when i meet new people and tell them where i'm from, they start a sublime medley. can't stand it.

Oh please tell me you are fucking joking? You are right? You would prefer Bradly Nowell and Sublime (one of the stupidest and most overrated bands of all fucking time) over Kurt and Nirvana? You prefer songs about dogs smoking weed, daddy's little girl doing bad things, and prison sex over the Nirvana catalogue? I can forgive you if you think that listening to a Sublime song on the radio (when it comes on) is okay, but to sit there and shout out something as fucking stupid as "bradley nowell > kurt cobain" is just uh.....no words to even describe that.

nirvana had "depth" to their songs,
but I like Sublime songs better.

But I HATE hearing people sing Sublime songs. I used to be a Sublime fanboy and would shush people when they would try to fucking ruin my listening experience with their voices.

Nirvana Unplugged is great.
But Muddy Banks compared to 40oz or Sublime? Nah brah.

And the STLE dvd from Sublime is better than anything video of any Nirvana anything.
