Well, in 2007, on the night of January 21st, the LA Times broke the news of the Rage reunion, the other headliners, and a couple dozen other acts they deemed newsworthy (Jarvis, Air, Manu Chao, etc) by posting an article online that appeared in the printed paper the following morning. So on the morning of the 22nd, Kevin & Bean of KROQ announced the full lineup on the air. Soon after, the poster was finally posted to coachella.com, which included the previously unannounced Jesus and Mary Chain reunion.

In 2006, the lineup poster did not appear online until January 31st, a Tuesday. The lineup was expected to be revealed the night of the 29th/morning of the 30th, but it was late. People were really freaking out online, many never went to sleep that night, and it was pretty nasty. I believe it was at night on the 30th that goldenvoice threw us a bone, and a list of about 30 bands (including the news that Tool would be the second headliner) was posted on the board by psychic friend. Billboard and the latimes. also posted articles. And the reason for the poster was late? Daft Punk had not officially confirmed yet, and they were added to the poster a couple days later. Massive Attack was added on Feb 6, and Madonna on March 1. God, that was such an exciting time: the surprises kept coming.

In 2005, the latimes.com article announcing some acts appeared online the evening of Sunday, January 30th, with the official poster revealed shortly after. I forgot when everything happened in 2004, sorry, but I think it was actually in February that the lineup was announced.

Not only did we get the lineup earlier than usual last year, we also got the set times a few days earlier. It probably helped that the set times actually LEAKED...somewhat. The blog catdirtsez had revealed the Friday times for the main and outdoor theater stages, and someone posted some too-small-to-read scans of the set times booklet.

See, history can be fun.

So to answer your question, it'll come when it's ready. But there are usually clues when the lineup is a day or two away. Be sure to check the latimes site every Sunday night.

Boourns, you get the prize for Post Containing The Most Useful Factual Information for today. Congratulations. If you have some prepared remarks you'd like to read, please feel free to do so now, but try to keep it under two minutes or we'll have the orchestra play you offstage.

they dont post when they are going to post it, they just post it.

I think they are going to post it, with Radiohead headlining...

Dani will be even more bitter...

Whereas the rest of the board is going to have a massive thomedphiljohnnycolin orgasm, which will result in at least 4342 new keyboards being purchased at 4am from best buy...

And me? Oh yeah, I will be collecting payoff...

I am pretty tempted to start a Radiohead Pool, if they play, not only do I win all your monies, but we all win by seeing RH...

Any and all winnings will be used to buy Dani a Del Taco of her own...

I suggest buying the first Del Taco in Barstow then you are never too far from LA, Vegas and Coachella.

You can stop en route to anywhere and get your food.

I think the most craziest thing on their menu are those fully loaded nacho fries.

A Mcdonalds exec checking into a hotel once told me that the Mcds in Barstow is the highest grossing one in the country...

Dani has said a number of times she asks NOT to know who is on the poster until it is released. She likes surprises.
She said she sometimes asks who IS NOT going to be on the poster though. Hence her infamous Radiohead comment. It also must be taken into acount that happened in November... GV could have had a change of heart and not told Dani, due to her request of not knowing who is on the poster.
