I have been following the construction of this thing for a while. It's really strange. It's a music themed amusement park with areas like Cool Country, Born in the USA, British Inasion, etc.

Some of the attractions have unusual theming like a Reggae theme childerens water area called Reggae River Falls.

And other weirdness like a Roadie themed stunt show.

A roller coaster based on Led Zeppelin.

But by far my favorite is the Magic Mushroom attraction. Apparently it's a ride and a garden to wander in.

It seems like the park could be really awesome or really lame.

It's opening spring of 2008 and they will have concert venues there so touring bands can play there.

Check out the interactive map at the website.

If you look around the website they have a contest to win a trip for 6 including airfare, hotel and admission to the park for the grand opening.

It all depends what you are into.

I've met people who came all the way from Europe just to go to Disneyland.

Most people at my work think I'm crazy for the distances I travel for concerts.

thats fucking crazy. WHere is this mushroom one? I can't seem to find it.

I admit, having "Whole Lotta Love" playing on a rollercoaster is a nice touch, but 65 MPH?! I'll stick to driving on the 134 thanks

Sounds like fun, but I see no place in the immediate future for me going to South Carolina.

Thanks for posting though, very interesting.

You have to go to the British Invasion area to find the Magic Mushroom Garden.

Also, they have something called the Punk Pit. Slam dancing for the whole family? That's how they describe it...

A dark ride based on Knights in White Satin. It's called Knights in White Satin the Trip.

The obvious Pinball Wizard arcade.

Here are scenes from the free Back Stage Tour.

When I first heard about this park it reminded me of this amazing classic skit from the Ben Stiller show.
