Just wondering if anyone else felt the same way...I'd like some more hip hop artists in the lineup. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are a few listed, which I can appreciate, but it would be nice to see a couple other big names. Maybe some West Coast rappers, considering it is LA, like Xzibit, Ice Cube, or The Game, etc. I think it would be cool...for such a huge festival, they should add to that genre a little bit.

"mc chris ownz"

But, go to Youtube and look for some of his live clips. They're awful, even by hip-hop show standards. He literally seems to be rapping over his own CDs.

Still, "Dungeon Master Of Ceremonies" was one of my top 10 of '06. If he was there, I'd be in the front row, but I wouldn't expect much.

Don't sleep on Spank Rock. Tha ti ssome of the freshest hip-hop out right now. I think J5 or the fugees would be the only mainstream artists to ever get booked here. I think the mix is just right at the festival.

heres the thing, i think that while people like ice cube are somewhat talented, their vibe just isnt what coachella is about, hip-hop wise. the kind of rap acts that coachella books are mind opening, intellegent and insightful music. such as jurassic 5, the roots, murs, atmosphere, kanye, ect. The craziest act I think that they got was Immortal Technique. But Xzibit should never play. EVER.

Fuck yeah. If they can reunite for Rock The Bells, they can reunite for a GOOD festival.

(Rock The Bells always has good lineups but I refuse to go to the NOS Events Center. I hate hate hate that place)

A Fugees re-reunion would be grand, as well.

Wasn't k-Os there last year or was it the year before? I loved Murs' set last year. One of these years, Murs and Atmosphere got to get together and do a Felt set at Coachella. I know El-P will be there but, how about a Company Flow reunion?
Any Stones Throw Artists
and KRS-ONE

The Coup is my favorite hip-hop group on the line-up. In case you don't know about them, like I didn't a year ago, I have taken it upon myself to be their personal advocate. Check it out:

I would have loved to have seen Atmosphere and Digable Planets last year. "Rebirth of Slick" has been my ringtone for over 2 years!

A Co. Flow Reunion would be the coolest thing ever!

Also, I'm gonna go see KRS-One tonight, for the second time. I saw him a few years ago, it was pretty good. I'll let you know how it goes.

This is a MUSIC festival, and good hip-hop has as much a reason to play Coachella as any rock, or any other genre for that matter, and hip-hop should be better represented. Not just the one or 2 token rappers. I was talking to Evidence from Dilated Peoples, and he told me they are currently discussing with GV a possible slot. Little Brother said, they are also in discussion. So that is two artist right there.
My personal wish list:
Wu-Tang(all eight members) RIP ODB
A Tribe Called Quest(second line headliner)
Immortal Tech.
Talib Kweli
MIA
Jay-Z(Don't front, you know he brings it)
I wouldn't be mad at a Snoop Dogg performance, and I know a shitload of the hipster, and hip hop heads, would be at his set.
MORE TO COME.

last year didn't have many hip hop artists, but 2006 had a lot. Kanye, Common, Damian Marley, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Lady Sov, lyrics Born, Platinum Pied Pipers, Murs, Digable Planets hell that's more than they had last year and it was only two days. But I agree with you 2007 was severely lacking in hip hop artists, but I think they've done a pretty good job in that department over the years.
