Awesome, Rick (...please tell me I got that right). I'm thinking of going early because I have to claim my ticket at the window... So I'll probably catch Liars (joy). Anyway, if any of you people are unfortunate enough to see me, come say hi!

Yeah, you got it right. I'm sure you'll be easy to spot, especially since I couldn't go an hour without seeing you at least somewhere off in the distance at Coachella. Hope you don't encounter any drama with getting your ticket like you did at Daft Punk last year.

.........
not a bad setlist. Not anything incredibly exciting, but the first encore is nice. PA to Street Spirit would be pretty cool.

Considering I only got to see 2 shows on this tour, I'm pleasantly happy with the selection I got.

My Iron Lung, Street Spirit, Paranoid Android, Just, Lucky, No Surprises, There There (twice) and the debut of Super Collider. Not bad at all at all ....

:)

I wish we would've gotten How to Disappear Completely at SF Outsidelands.

I cannot believe the band didn't stop playing when the voulume cut out!!??? It was almost like the video was pre-recorded. They just kept playing and then the volume went back on...fuckin weird. They should've started those songs over or just stopped and talked to us. The silince was jaw dropping. I have been to a couple hundred shows and a dozen festivals and I have never seen or heard of anything like that befor.

I hope to see them in the future...

I love, love, LOVE Exit Music. Such a wonderful, soul-shattering song. But I hope I never have to hear it live again. Why? All the drunk frat dudes whistling and yelling unintelligible nonsense. OMG IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO BE HEARD BY STRANGERS FOR A FEW SECONDS, BRAH! Every single time. And tonight had the worst ever heckling.

Setlist was completely lacking in surprises (was Talk Show Host outlawed in LA or something?) and the seat I waited 15 hours for was awful (back of K3...two rows of chairs in a flat handitard pen, and I was in the back row, and this area had no elevation, so no view over the people in front of me. BUT it's Radiohead and they put on an incredible performance as always so it's worth it.

Those lights during Paranoid Android were EPIC. Glad I got to hear it this year.

Just going to point this out: If it were Aphex Twin doing a full US tour and mixing his awesome sets every night with awesome songs, you would be losing your shit too.

See, the difference is that... Aphex Twin has *never* done a "full US tour." I can pretty much guarantee that he never will. So, yeah, I would be losing my shit if that happened, but it would be justified.

1) Radiohead tours all the time. For reals. It's... not that big a deal.
2) Aphex Twin > (Radiohead^583290583)

Really really great show from Radiohead last night. Like day and night from Friday night.

Somewhat agreed on the slower songs comment. The band was able to balance between fast and slow songs so that it didn't effect my experience.

I was banging my head like a Metallica concert when National Anthem played. Tonight should be another good experience.

I'm beginning to despise shows at the Hollywood Bowl. My whole section (J2) was sat down for 75% of the time. There was some asshole behind me who kept telling me to sit down. Of course, when I turned around to confront him, he would shut the fuck up. Great venue but the lamest crowd.

Better Weather, Crowd (at least around us), Sound (No Meyer Sound at the Bowl), and easy exit from venue. 5 song first encore and 3 song second encore was nice. I wasn't able to get tickets on the initial sale, but I did go to the OSL show. I may be going tonight as well (we'll see what happens, but it's looking like it.) Also, I might be getting a ticket with a friend to go to San Diego on Wednesday, so that'd be a pretty big change from how many I was going to see as of last week (which was zero).

Nice.

And apparently after the show last night, Ed confirmed that they would play Brazil in march... That definitely lowers the prospects of a Coachella appearance. But who knows... I hope they play Mexico afterwards, I would probably make it down.

It should be very easy for any of you to sneak in your camera's or weed or whatever your bringing in, you can bring in food they didnt do any pat downs, i've been to a ton of bowl shows and it just depends on the crowd and radiohead doesnt bring in any gansta's so they arent worried about weapons and thats all any venue generally cares about, and just so you all know its best to get completely shitfaced at the park below the bowl with your own beer if you wanna avoid 8.50 pints, Hope all that are going tonight have a blast i know i did!

i just had my camera in my pocket as well. They did a lax search of my bag. my bag has multiple compartments and i just unzipped the one with my sweatshirt and left the one with wine closed. They were confiscating obvious bottles and cans. my pictures are pretty cruddy (taken from the back of G1), but once i get a few up, a here they will go. i still need to review the few movies i got.

Brilliant show. Sound was sweet perfection from where i was at and the crowd was great.

a guy behind me got popped for smoking a joint. The security guard took the joint from him and wrote on his ticket stub. Said if he got caught again, out he went. Brought a cool breeze over our section for a few minutes. If you are close to the walk ways, be careful and maybe you should be in a hit and run situation (sneak).

I loved puffing on nice fat joints while rockin out in my row to Radiohead! NO. Someone that's derivative simply emulates. A band like Liars is looking back towards the nowave movement at bands like DNA, Mars, and The Contortions in an effort to figure out what exactly made them stand out, in an attempt to take it a step further. This step further doesn't simply entail different instruments or technologies, but recontextualizing where the musicality was coming from. In this sense, they are frustrated in the same way with the tripe that is flourishing these days as nowave bands were in the mid-70s and early 80s...

that is the most pretentious load of horse shit ive ever heard. i really hope the band doesnt take themselves as serious as you do, cuz that would make the fact that they suck ass that much funnier.

i guess it depends on the show. it usually seems like when you stay in one place, the smell stays with you so it makes it easier for security to figure out who was smoking. you wouldn't want to be all out in the open either, i meant more like while walking through a crowd. but yeah, obviously depends on the show too.

oh, and radiohead killed it last night, of course. even songs that i'm not a big fan of on the album sound so much better live. i would have liked to hear some more rockin songs, but was still very satisfied with the setlist. hopefully tonight will have a couple more off the bends (yes ivy, i want to hear songs from the bends, so suck it). ;)

so during street spirit, did thom play the wrong song, or did he fuck up that song? i was a little further back and didnt hear exactly what he said when he stopped, but it seemed like he started playing street spirit instead of something else, then realized it, and stopped, then decided to play it anyway. either way it was pretty funny.

I hope we get a different opener and closer tonight. those 2 are played out already.

I'm planning on leaving downtown San Diego by 6:15. Do you guys think that'll be enough time to make it? We have no interest in seeing Liars.

either way you should get there early... you don't want unforeseen circumstances to make you miss Radiohead.

I just want to make sure I leave early enough to be getting out of my car at 6:15.

Wheres the beef?

Traffic to Chula Vista is pretty nuts... on Fridays and weekend.

On a Wednesday night? Probably shitty if you get there during rush hour, but not as bad as it could be.

Also, Radiohead did not like the sound bleed from their Coachella performance so you know that would be a request...that is why they played unopposed at the other festivals....

that doesn't mean they need to be unopposed. it just means nobody on the Outdoor Theatre, and no DoLab.

Very true. But even better if you take the back way, off of the 905. Much easier to get in & out of the venue.

Ok, so I should shoot for 5:45 then? I have 5:00 reservations at Visions downtown. That's the earliest we could make it. So if I tell my friends to hurry the fuck up so we won't be late then we should be fine :) Shit, the menu is online. Maybe it would help if we knew what we wanted ahead of time.

Oooh. The 905?... I haven't taken that way before.

I highly recommend it - the only way we go anymore! It's nice after the show because most people turn left out of the venue to get to the 805, but you can skip all that and turn right. What area are you coming from? You can take 805 S to 905 E and turn left on Heritage. Or, if you are near the east county, you can take the new toll road - dumps you off on the 905 so close to Heritage Road.

Well 5:45 would land you smack dab in rush hour traffic. I think maybe shooting for 6:00-6:15 or even 6:30 would be better, but they always say better be safe than sorry.

Entirely up to you, you are close to the toll road - the toll road is so quick, but $3.75 each way. If you don't want to pay the toll, take the 805 S to the 905 E and turn left onto Heritage. If you don't mind paying the toll, take the 94 East to the 125 South until it ends on the 905, turn right onto Heritage. You can PM me if you need better directions (you can call me Sheila, you are Lee I think?) I am happy to assist you in your 1st Radiohead show.

he has... he throws other songs in there as well from time to time, other times he does the typical "here comes the flood" intro...

That's a good setlist. Between the two nights LA got a good run of tracks. Surprised In Limbo hasn't been played again though...

My guess it was even less of TLW than was played in Berkeley, just two lines like in creep above...

(Will probably have to check with the person I'm going with since he's the one getting the rental car, but seeing as how I sold him his ticket, I should have some leverage.) And dedicated Talk Show Host to me ("This is for you") because I yelled for that, and coincidentally I did this right when it was scheduled to be played on the setlist. Sure was great to be in the third row center right between Thom and Jonny. And Thom asked "Are you kidding" when I said "free Tibet!"
