I'm normally not into it. Sasquatch is always fun. I saw Pearl Jam and Radiohead there. The only show besides Sasquatch that I wanted to attend this year was Police/Costello... Things like Jack Johnson and Tom Petty are there a lot. It's hit and miss.

If you want a great Gorge experience, I would go for Sasquatch.

I have no vacation time left for this year, but if they put out some nice dates next year...we'll see. I hear some South American cities are pretty cheap to stay in too.

I was hoping for a Saturday Cali date (because of my lack of vacation time), but no such luck.

I think I'll be at the thunderbird around noon-1PM, since it's all GA.

For White River I don't even think they open up the lot until 2-3 usually. The pit is so small that it's not normally a big deal. If you pass a Les Schwab on your way down, go in and grab an early entry ticket. I think there is one in Auburn. Who knows what an "early entry" ticket means, but better safe than sorry.

edit: The website (rivergiver.com) says it means 10 minutes before everyone else... Interesting...

Gorge camping is the best....

I camped at the Gorge over the weekend... it was horrible. I was woken up to the chants of "PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!" at 6am. It must have lasted 5 minutes. There were also two fights, one involving wrenches and knives within close proximity to my tent while I was sleeping. Everyone around me were just plain douches.
With that being said, our neightbours around at Sasquatch were nice. They shared bacon and eggs with us. However, someone thought it would be funny to destroy my canopy at Sasquatch. Sooo...


I haven't camped at the Gorge in a long time, it's always a fratboy fest. I camp at Wildhorse normally.

EDIT: Gorge camping is really well organized and well kept up though.

How is Wildhorse? I might consider that next time.

And yesm the camping grounds at the Gorge are always in great shape. It actually amazes me how clean the Portapoties are kept in the camping grounds and in the Gorge.

Wildhorse camping is more chill than the Gorge, but there is still plenty of drinking and people are cool about making the rounds and getting to know everybody.

Radiohead in 2003 at White River was insane... it's incredible to be that close to them.

And Radiohead would play sunday, and then 2 days later. They have to move all that gear and take it to Phoenix, Radiohead wouldnt play the very next day after a festival on their own.

Yes, I have, at the aforementioned Celebrity Theatre in fact. Ludacris opened, it was right when 'What's Your Fantasy' came out. I hated that song and was booing, now I don't mind Luda.

Outkast is phenomenal! Andre 3000 is a true rockstar, they were better than Jay-Z without a doubt. You add George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic as their backing band and now we're talking one of the best shows of ALL TIME!

The problem with Cricket is it is outdoors, and May can get pretty hot. It can be okay weather, but there is still the potential for 90+ degrees. Dodge is indoors (as is Gammage).

I have been to Dodge. And Cricket has a roof over it. Only the lawn would be an issue, but it works. And have you seen Radiohead play any shows indoors this tour?(only 2, both paris nights at Bercy) they have almost been an exclusive outdoor act for almost a decade. The 2006 tour for about %80 of it was indoors, except california and Roo.

Yes, I have, at the aforementioned Celebrity Theatre in fact. Ludacris opened, it was right when 'What's Your Fantasy' came out. I hated that song and was booing, now I don't mind Luda.

Outkast is phenomenal! Andre 3000 is a true rockstar, they were better than Jay-Z without a doubt. You add George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic as their backing band and now we're talking one of the best shows of ALL TIME!

I really want to see them live, I don't think they could be better than Jay-Z, but we'll see. To be honest I have my doubts about them doing any shows anytime soon.

Correct, its been a lil ''format'' thing I have said time and time again, and everyone has been pretty compliant. just watch the site you are watchign for updates and keep to yourself til it finishes.

Massive Attack's lights fit in Celebrity...just barely. I would hope if RH added some extra southwest dates that they would be after Coachella, but I've seen dates all over Coachella weekend in Phoenix for other bands.

I remember Keane 05 was on the Monday after (I was too tired to try to go--that was at Celebrity btw). And fucking AIR was on Saturday night Coachella 04 AND 07. That sucked.

Ok, you got problems, Sit Down Stand Up destroys live. See, video and in person is BIIIG difference. So yeah, until you see it, you cannot be making that kind of judgment on the song. They shouldve done it on this tour to really be saying ''raindrops'' instead of how its being used in The Gloaming. It has such a big buildup and I coudl imagine the lights would be ridiculous. not to take away from The Gloaming and how they are doing it, just in the literal sense.

true that you can't conclusively judge a song live until you have seen it in person, but the live version I watched was in fact a let down. it was the Glasto '03 show, and while the first 3:30 is great, the raindrops climax is a disappointment. it might've just been thr show or the translation to video, but I had higher hopes. with this lighting setup, it could be insane.

that one is definitely better. I guess my main problem is how minimal the climax is, but this one builds up the outro much quicker than the glasto version did. also, the smaller venue definitely adds to it. the $2 bill show was the first radiohead concerts I ever tried to get tickets to.

Do Cricket, I would take middle and a little farther back than the side and close. Youll get the best payoff in seeinng the whole show from a proper perspective.
